Hi, I was interested to know if anyone else has experienced this. I can have pain at any point during the month, but for the last few months I have hardly any pain during my period, but as soon as it stops I am in pain for days afterwords. I am going to start to keep a record, but I am fairly sure this is the same most months.
Just beginning to wonder if it is my imagination!?
Cheers Sarah

Hi Sarah, I haven't experienced pain at the end of my period, but I have noticed a shift in the timing of the pain. When I was younger the pain would come before the period and for the first few days of it. In more recent times I have felt OK for the first few days and then the pain kicks in halfway through. I don't know if this helps. You won't regret keeping a record - I've been doing that and it has been a real eye-opener in many ways.
** Edited to add: Now I have experienced pain at the end of my period!

I agree with you aussie! Keeping a record is the best thing you can do! I used to have pain at more specific times during the month. At that time I would have the period cramps lasting well into the following days. Now I just feel like I have my period all the time! So ya... keeping a record is great - especially for when it comes time to talk to your doctor!

I have never had it at the end, but about 24 hours before my period starts I can't move an inch. Throughout the month I get bad pains too off and on with no real pattern, all depending on how active I am I think. But the day before my period starts all I do is lay currled up in a ball making my pills my best friend for the fist few days.

Hi Sarah,
I usually have pain 2-3 days after my period... no pain during, but 98% of the time afterwards and it usually lasts about a week or so.

Is it period cramps that you are feeling? Just curious since the pain I have is like a dull ache and pulling feeling. Its enough to make me need to sit down...

my pain is usually in my left ovary. I've had lots of cyst problems, so I assume thats what it's from. My doctors don't seem to worried about it. Go figure.

Thanks for replies. My pain at the end is like a dull ache. I will keep a record, as Dr just says all these things can be endo. I am trying the diet approach and have had some success with that, as Dr only wants to give me the pill.
Thanks again.

This is just another topic that prooves how doctors are so quick to excuse everything, and are so willing to give you a pill or a shot to mask it all! I'm glad we can all chat about it here though.. gives ourselves that 'ammunition' to take back to them!

I get pain a few days before my period and all through my period. I also have a lot of pain with ovulation. How long are your cycles? Could you be ovulating when you have the pain.
jjuls22- I also have most of my pain on my left side, and it bothers me through out the month. During my last lap. the Dr. only found problems on my right side so I have always been real curious as to why my left side bothers me soo much more.

now that I think of it I have somewhat of the same issue... I always have pain on my right side, and they tell me the huge endometrioma is on my left ovary! It seems weird that it would just be 'reffered' pain.....

Some of my worst pain is at the end of my period, the first day is always terrible, then it settles a little but gets progressively worse till the end of my period.

Ending my period can be a relief, but even though all the dramatic stuff is over I tend to feel achey and tender around the tummy, not sure if it's cos I have strong cramps though cos it can feel like I've done a workout! xx

I get soreness in my stomach as though I had just done sit ups or crunches. I think the reason I get the soreness feeling after my period is because with the pain I tend to tense up which causes my abdominal muscles to flex.

I use lavender oil, undiluted straight on my belly, helps the aches.
