Hi -- I am relatively new to the group and was diagnosed with endometriosis back in November, although I've long suspected it. I'm learning that this is a chronic condition that affects every aspect of my life and am slowly coming to accept it. With this group, I am happy to have found support through all the stories that unite us in our suffering. I've only met two other women in my life who have endometriosis, which only adds to the loneliness. All this to say thank you to everyone who offers support and sheds light on their stories. Each time I've read through a thread, I feel less alone.
Right now, I'm seeking wisdom or advice regarding my long term treatment for my endo, post laproscopic surgery. My doctor recommended Lupron, but it was too expensive for me, not to mention my weariness about the side effects. For the past four months I have been taking micronor, a progastrin only mini pill. So far, I have bleed more days than not, having a heavy period twice a month and light spotting in between. I've found that my pain has not gotten any better and possibly gotten worse. I have an appointment with my obgyn in a month to discuss other options. I'm not sure whether to give it more time or try something new. I have been considering trying progastrin cream, as I am drawn to the more natural treatments. Have others experienced constant bleeding from micronor and does it get better with time (even at four months)?
What other simple, natural treatments have you tried that suppress the endometriosis and help manage the pain?
I welcome any thoughts -- thanks so much!
