Hi,
I apologize for the long post but wanted to give some history then see if anyone can help with my questions. I am 46 years old and started having really irregular periods around April 2016. A couple were really long (longest was 18 days) but not super heavy - more just long and annoying. A few times I had a period every 2 weeks. I also started getting lots of large clots. As a 46 year old I was chalking this all up to pre-menopause and wasn't too worried about it. Cramps during my period were also getting worse but usually helped by a couple of Advil.
In September of 2016 I started getting pain in my groin, sometimes shooting down the front of my legs. The pain in the legs would be worse when I had my period but the groin pain was there almost all of the time. I decided to see a gynecologist in October. She did a trans vaginal ultrasound as well as a uterine biopsy which all came back normal. She mentioned the possibility of Endometriosis as I had pretty painful periods when I was young. They were fine after going on BC pill and fine after having children but started to get bad again a few years ago.
Right after the ultrasound (Nov. 4.) I started getting a lot of pain/ pressure in my rectal area and was having a hard time sitting, especially in the car. I still get this pain although it comes and goes. I also started getting pretty bad back pain, lower back both sides as well us up a little higher along my spine which kind of feels like someone is squeezing. It makes sense to me that this could all be possibly related to Endo, especially as my hormone levels are probably fluctuating a lot right now. But the scariest thing about it is I've lot about 12 pounds since April and have not been trying at all. I also get this back pain and rectal pain/pressure anytime during the month - doesn't necessarily happen just around the time of my period.
So my questions are:
1. Is it possible to have endo pain (particularly in the back) at anytime during the month not just around the time of your period?
2. Has anyone found that weight loss has been a symptom of their endo?
Thanks everyone, Jodi
