Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, first post :-) I wanted to pick the brain of those that have/had endo. I'm going in for key hole surgery tomorrow to get ovarian cyst drilling, I have around 23 little cysts in each ovary, but my doc wants to check for endo. I would be totally surprised if I don't have it, since 11 years old when my period first started I have experienced agonizing pain. I have to take around 8-10 strong pain killers per day for my period pain, I usually take nurofen plus + mercondol, sometimes it feels as if they painkillers do nothing besides knock me out as I often wake up still in agony. Anyway, doc tells me during my "examination" he felt a lump in the pouch of Douglas which he wants to look at. Also, for the last 10 months I have a chronic constipation, I have to take laxatives every day or my bowels won't move, I have had all tests to rule out colon cancer but they have all come back negative. I'm wondering if endo might have anything to do with it? Or something else gyn related? It's to be noted that I don't have painful bowel movements (when I do go) except during my periods, if I do manage to have any kind of a bowel motion during my period it does hurt, so does passing wind, but that whole area is in agony during that time! Sorry for the long post, hope it's no too detailed. Thanks Kathleen

I'm sorry that you have such a problem. I can't speak for others but I know for me constipation is an ongoing issue and I believe a common one amongst endo sufferers. I know for me that finding food solutions to this problem has worked best as I won't take a laxative. Research safe foods used to increase fibre in your diet. I use apricots personally. Due to the inflammation my bowels and bladder are anything but relaxed so if you can go for a walk or some other form of exercise that doesn't hurt you this might help also. The other ladies on here will probably have other suggestions as well.
Best of luck☺

Hi again. It is my bad time this week and the pain makes me forgetful. I forgot to mention that sometimes endo can be on your bowel as in my case which may be a contributing factor.
