Hello ladies
I had my first lap done by my general gyn in Feb 2013. It was a primarily diagnostic surgery with ablation to certain areas she felt confident removing. There were no samples sent to pathology so my diagnosis was not certain. After a relatively difficult recovery I sought out an endo specialist when my pain returned only a couple of months after my surgery. I met with my doctor and scheduled a second lap. I had 9 places of endo mostly in the cul de sac area and a cyst on a fallopian tube. The endo was excised and sent to pathology to confirm. My doctor says that he believes I still have endo inside my uterus due to its odd shape and texture but that there was no way to know for sure. He also said that because of this he believed I would still have some discomfort but that he had achieved an optimal surgical result.
About 4 months passed after a very easy recovery and me feeling the best I had felt in years. My doctor had told me that he would not consider endo a primary problem for if I was still experiencing pain. After 4 months I experienced the worst period I had ever had. I went to my regular gyn for a pap afterwards and discussed the period with her. She felt it was best to change my birth control from monthly nuvaring to continuous and having a period every 3 months. I have just reached my 10th week of the nuvaring after my pap and have been having severe pains in my right side and a stabbing pain in my rectum. I have not felt any sort of pain like this since before my second lap. I have also started spotting. I understand this is a common thing with the nuvaring but it is something I have never had an issue with in the three years I have used it. It is a moderate amount of blood and it worries me.
I feel like I am at the end of my rope with what I can do. I refuse to go to the ER despite the pleas of my frustrated fiance. Up until now he has been beyond supportive but is to the point that he tells me to just take a pain pill or let him take me to the hospital. I agreed to the hospital trip once before my second lap and even after telling the doctor about my endo was put on heavy antibiotics for PID and sent home with no relief and outrageous diarrhea for a week. I have such a busy schedule that I avoid taking anything stronger than ibuprofen because I cannot afford to be drowsy between work and school.
I am afraid of what will happen next or where to go for answers. I would appreciate any words of wisdom you wonderful ladies would have to share very much.
Thank you for listening. Hugs!
