Right now I am only taking birth control pills (bcp) continuously. The bcp I am on is Aviane- generic for Alesse. This one was supposed to help with increasing or restoring some of the libido I am supposed to have??? I think because I have been on bcps for so long that my body has gotten used to soem of them. I have taken almost all of the ortho brand pills, Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo worked well. So did Ortho Novum. I tried Yazmin for a while, I didn't care for that one. My doc wants to put me on Lupron right now continuously until I am ready to have kisd. But I don't know how I feel about that. The last time I was on it, I had some side effects, but they weren't horrible. I know it is different for everyone though, and some time frames change. Good experience the first time, bad the 2nd.
Fortunately right now the majority of my pain is only during or after intercourse. I can live through it most of the time. My periods are lasting about 12-14 days though. Blaggh!

I am home from work today due to extreme pain.
I have had 1 ovary and both tubes removed, they found fibroids behind my abdomen and intestines(already have diverticulitis, so pain in intestines already)
I wake at 5am with either 4 advil, 2 gasx and 2 ultram or sometimes 2 midol, 2 gasx and 2 ultram
if that doesn't work like today, then i move onto another ultram, if no help, then 1/2 of a vicodin, and if no help then the other half.
I get the depo shot and i let it lapse, never do that again, and for the past 2 weeks i have had the worst cramps, and my poor hubby...the pms is here too.

I am currently taking percocet, but I also just had surgery the 29th of Jan. They are working and I am hoping the pain isn't as bad as it was before surgery because I don't like having to take pain killers all the time, but nothing else even takes the edge off.

A list of meds huh? Well here I go:
In my teens I was diagnosed with PMDD and they put me in Vicodon for my monthly menses. Then in November of 2007 with a diagnosis of IBS (which after reading all the material on it I don't feel I fit the diagnosis) for that I was prescribed:
1. Bentyl - didn't work just made me drowzy 2. Prilosec - never had heartburn or indigestion so still have no clue why I was prescribed this
Then in December I went back into the E.R. for the severe abdominal pain
1. Morphine in E.R. - it worked to make me not care about the pain. 2. discharged with Vicodon - just dulled the pain
Starting in April of 2008 more trips to the E.R. including a 4 day hospitalization where they had me on morphine in the E.R. 650/10mg of percocet every 4 hours in the hospital it worked to take away the pain but made me a zombie.
Different visits to my doctors and gyno''s have me now on:
1. Ultram - 100 mgs. every 6 hours - dulls the pain 2. Percocet - 325/5 mgs every 4 hours - dulls the pain
I go in for my laproscopy tomorrow.

Darvocet, Flexeril, and Naprosyn, simultaneously. But the Naprosyn was too hard on my stomach, so I just take advil in its place. I was on one other NSAID before Naprosyn, though, but I can't remember the name of it. I only took it for a couple of days, before it landed me in the ER with severe stomach pain.

The best things that have worked for me: *hydrocodones 500 mg aka Lortab 5 (absolutely freaking fantastic!) *muscle relaxers (Flexeril 10 mg) used in conjunction with above *Diclofenac (anti-inflammatory) 75 mg
Naproxen didn't do a thing for me. Extra strength Tylenol didn't do a thing for me and I was ready to give up. My RE gave me a different prescription, but I haven't filled it yet so we'll see.
ETA: I was also on Seasonale (3 month bcp) before my lap and it worked wonders for the pain during the month, but my period was absolutely miserable. The cramps were hundreds of times worse and the diahrrea was terrible. I definitely would NOT recommend them.
My gyno wanted me to do Lupron and I refused so he suggested a copper IUD and I passed on that as well.

Let me add to the list. I'm from Australia and don't really know the generic names for things so im not sure if any of this will mean anything to anyone.
Over many years i have been on various BC pills: Monofeme, trifeme, norimin, jasmine, yasmine, diane, juliet and am now on levlen. Most of them don't work for me (i get loads of spotting or bleed at the wrong time) but the best has probably been yasime and diane. Don't do much for the pain though.
I'm on antidepressants, Effexor 75mg, started on them before i was diagnosed with endo and they made a HUGE difference in my life, made it easier to get out of bed and stopped me from crying every single day.
My gyno prescribed Danazol which im taking at the moment, i don't think they're doing very much though and i'll be disucssing with her at my next appointment.
For pain i mostly take ibuprofen, works wonders but i've take so many that i'm worried i'm destroying my kidney. Codiene makes me very sleepy, so only at night i sometimes take prodiene forte. Am also going to discuss this with my doc.
For IBS i take buscapan which really helps with the cramps and supplements called IBS Support and Inner Health Plus (full of good bacteria).
When i was younger i tried muscle relaxernts (dont remember the name) they just made me sleepy.

;D COMBUNOX...Each combination Combunox™ tablet contains:
Oxycodone HCl, USP 5 mg
Ibuprofen, USP 400 mg
Combunox is supplied in a fixed combination tablet form for oral administration and combines the opioid analgesic agent, oxycodone HCl, with the non-steroidal anti- inflammatory (NSAID) agent, ibuprofen.
GET IT! TAKE IT! & HAVE A BETTER DAY!!! This is the only thing that works for me. ♥

For Pain:Before my lap: only IV Morphine in the hospital took my pain away completely...or made me so doped I didn't notice it anymore. At home I took Tramacet (tramadol and acetaminophen)-Helped a little between periods, but useless during. Oxycocet was better during periods, but basically only dulled the pain. Had to take two at a time to get relief and therefore slept a lot. Took lactulose and colaise to avoid constipation. Since my lap: (Dec 9th 08) 1.Naproxen-Didn't touch the pain. 2.Toradol-when it's bareable 3.Oxycocet- when it's UNBAREABLE!!!...Like today. Anything non-prescription is useless to me. I guess it's safe to say my lap wasn't exactly successful. One doc (who performed the surgery) says he can't understand why I'm still in pain! Saw another one who sent me for ultrasounds and an MRI that revealed choc. cysts, feels a lot of endo was missed.I am going to a pain clinic to try a nerve block procedure (not sure when, still waiting for my appt). My new gyne says it's not commonly done on endo patients but thinks it's worth a try. God bless'er. Might only be a band-aid treatment, but ANY relief is good even if only temporary, right ladies? I will post my results...if they EVER call me back! Endo Treatment:Depo-Provera- Tried it orally to see if it would affect my migraines. Result? A five day Migraine!!! Not on it anymore obviously! Lupron w/o addback therapy-had my second shot on Feb 6...was told to expect pain relief approximately a month from then so I'm praying that on March 6th or sooner I will have good news. For now I remain hopeful... and run from my back door into a Canadian winter stripping down to my bra as I go (much to my 15 yr old son's embarrassment on one unfortunate occasion) Hey, at least I don't go out the front door!!! Hot Flashes and our ability to endure them---one of the top 10 reasons women are the superior sex. I'm a little emoticon-happy right now! ;D forgive me, it's the oxycocet. lol!

I've had:
Tramadol (rubbish) Voltarol (also rubbish) Codeine (didn't touch it) Nurofen (don't make me laugh) Paracetamol (see above)
I currently use:
60 mg dihydrocodeine 4 x day during my period 1000 mg paracetamol 4 x day ditto - weirdly, the codeine doesn't work without the paracetamol - I asked my doctor and he said that paracetamol acts as an enhancer to the opiate drugs (I think that's right) 500 mg mefenamic acid 3 x daily
I also use Oramorph if I get really desperate; 30ml every 4-6 hours
I also have a Mirena, but it isn't doing much good frankly.
I've just started acupuncture and diet changes so we'll see what happens!

I've had: Ibuprofen + caffeine --worked most of the time before the pain was realy bad Toradol -- shot followed by pills --- my favorite because it get rid of the pain but I'm not foggy afterward, the military docs said that you need the shot first otherwise the pills are not as effective Naproxen- useless celebrex--utterly useless percocet-- takes the edge off and I sleep for 8 hours ibuprefen-- works sometimes Ibuprofen +benadryl -- at least I'm asleep

Agreed! I used to have a prescription for it years ago when I suffered from migraines. It was FAB for menstrual cramps!
