How are you feeling?

Pretty good, thanks for asking! The foggy/sleepy head feeling has been hard to shake, I still blame the anesthesiologist. And clearly I did some weird things because I think I bit my own tongue and ended up with a fat lip, my tongue is still a bit numb! That is a total first! Otherwise I spoke to my surgeon and the path report showed more endo on the left sidewall and one of the ligaments, and the left side is still a touch cranky understandably. Really the tiredness is the main limitation now, but we did go to see a bike race downtown tonight (my husband carried around my fold-up chair and I hung out with a friend who just had a c-section!). I hope every morning I wake up with a really clear head, it will happen soon! I am glad I had the surgery, I feel like i've done everything I can now and the rest is up to fate.

Sorry for the head fuzz, Semi. Anesthetics can really wack you out for a long time, but that foggy/sleepy head feeling is really annoying. Did you bleed a lot after the surgery? have you had iron levels/ Vit B/folic acid tested to make sure you're not dealing with anemia or something else too?

No, I don't bleed much and it has been improving, if it wasn't I'd definitely get my levels checked, good suggestion. I think it was that the surgery went a bit longer than expected. We did a lot today, and I was able to make it to the Farmer's Market for the first time this season!

Glad recovery is going ok. I hate that fuzzy brain feeling, too. Take it easy and don't try to over do it!

I'm sorry! I'm just now catching up with all of this. I took the MCAT the same day you had your surgery so I was living under a rock the entire week.
I am really excited to see how you heal from all of this. I think the surgery was the right choice too. How are you doing today?

Pretty good, it is probably the placebo effect but I think day one without the antibiotics is noticeable for better energy level. We're taking recovery on the road tomorrow up to the mountains, which is great because I have been going stir crazy in our tiny condo with just my husband (I was getting fairly snappy and cranky). So morale is high! So far the bladder has been really good but it's easy to drink tons of water and avoid trigger foods when you're at home with lots of time on your hands.
I hope the MCAT went well, that must have been crazy stressful! I'm sure you performed beautifully- grace under pressure!

How are you well into week 2, Semi? Hope this last heat wave didn't kill your airconditioner again!

We have relocated up to the White Mountains, so much cooler up here! I did a long walk on a flat trail this morning with my mum, very nice. I'm sticking to the handicapped accessible trails & parks . Just have the swelly belly a bit, probably because I'm doing more. We are roadtrippin for post op tomorrow. I'm looking forward to getting the steri-strips off, they are still clinging on partially (except the one I accidentally ripped off while adjusting my pants- yowzer, that hurt!). It will be two weeks on Thurs, nice to be feeling so good.

so glad you're feeling good, and congrats on the walk. I love the white mountains--my brothers and I went backpacking there when we were kids. It rained the whole time, but I remember how beautiful the fallen trees were with the rain on them!
Hope the roadtrip isn't too difficult. Cars are rough!

I am so glad you are feeling good. The white Mountains sounds so peaceful. I hope the ride tomorrow isn't to much. Good luck I will be thinking of you.

So back to work tomorrow, it's been nice to be off. It is that time again, right on schedule, but so far only what I would say is tolerable cramping (taking ibuprofen). Bladder has been really good, a smidgen annoyed today but I hope it goes back to feeling good again. I'm very pleased and interested to see how the next few months go. My follow up was good; the path report showed endo on the rectum, which surprised us both a little but that makes sense why the tube was stuck. It is so important to send tissues to pathology!
While we were up north I did a little hiking and was great except for my stupid knee! Going down stairs is killing me! It is acting like runner's knee after not running for two weeks, I'm so pissed! I was feeling up to running again (like my insides wouldnt fall out) but that's out. I kinesio taped it today, hope that helps for work tomorrow. Alas, my body can't be all great at the same time I guess!

I've been MIA lately, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and I hope you see improvement from your surgery. Take good care of yourself and get plenty of rest.

Semi, bikram yoga has done WONDERS for my knees. I have no knee pain, running or biking. When you're feeling better, do you have a place you can try it?
