I wasn't offered AMH testing, nor did my doctor indicate that I should have any concerns regarding egg quality or ovarian reserve or anything like that. Then again, I'm now thinking she (and the nurses in the office) don't know all that much about Lupron despite putting me on it...

I thought I would start a new thread here about AMH as there doesn't appear to be one.
I think although the test has been around for a while it's still quite a new thing, and isn't done as standard. However, I do think it should be offered to all Endo-girls before they start Lupron et al as it can be used as a good indicator as to the condition of the ovaries, and the (small) risk of going into the premature menopause.
I will post a few links for those people who don't know about it.
Oh, and my AMH was 56.8 - I will try and find the data of what the results mean as there are two different scales!

Below is a table of what the results mean.
Ovarian Fertility Potential. pmol/L Ng/mL Optimal Fertility 28.6 - 48.5 4.0 - 6.8 Satisfactory Fertility. 15.7 - 28.6 2.2 - 4.0 Low Fertility 2.2 - 15.7 0.3 - 2.2 Very Low / undetectable 0.0 - 2.2 0.0 - 0.3 High Level. >48.5. >6.8
IMPORTANT: this test only tells you what volume of eggs you have left, not the quality!
The reason I have posted this is as more of an indicator of how close to the menopause a woman is, which is obviously important for ttc-ers who are having Lupron (etc) to deal with endo before TTC/fertility treatment.
I will post some article links too as I know we all love a good scientific read!

Hiya, could you copy this over to the one you started about the testing with Gnrh? I think we could just keep it all in that thread?

Confused now...can't see your original post on the other thread. I'll unlock this one and move littlebit's post into here
