Sorry the post op pain has been so bad hon but I have high hopes that once you heal you'll be happy, healthy and pain free! Rest up as much as poss. Are you driving back home? Well, is your mum driving you back home?

Thanks Helen. I am feeling better today. Having my period and healing from post op pain is quite the combination. Once I figured out how to manage my pain medicine things seemed to ease up a bit.
My Mom and I are flying back to Colorado. We leave early Sunday morning.

I'm surprised you're allowed to fly so soon after surgery. Make sure you wear your surgical socks!!

Oh if you have a little pillow to hold over your tummy while walking around in the airport that will totally be your best friend! I hope things get better for you! I'm really glad you got to have your surgery with Dr. Redwine. He's one of the best!

I know how brutal having your period can be during the first week post-op, that's what happened to me with my first surgery. I got my period the day after my surgery! It was hell! Just fill up on those meds and you'll push through it I think the flying will be okay, with my surgery with Dr. Redwine bumpy things only hurt for a couple of days. I don't think the turbulence (if there is any) will be too much of a problem for you. I'll cross my fingers! Out of curiosity, what is your post-op pain like? For me it was TONS of cramping, and terrible backache. I remember I thought it was interesting because my post-op pain from my first surgery wasn't like that at all, it was more of a soreness in just one little area accompanied by some bad backache and bloating type pain. I'm curious to hear what it's like for you! Ps... how are those purty fingernails holding up? I can't wait to show the girls our picture!

I made it safe and sound. I brought a pillow on the flight and had a wheel chair to baggage claim so it wasn't to bad. I don't know what was going on but I took my two percocet with some food before I got on the plane and by the time we were in the air I felt higher then a kite. I felt like I was having an outer body experience lol it was so ridiculous. I've never felt like that on percocet before. My Mom just let me lay on her lap for most of the plane ride and I fell asleep. I'm so glad to be home and in my own bed. Happy to see my kitty too. He's been up my butt since I got home. My post op pain is much more intense then it was with my first lap. I've had a lot of cramping and bloating, my belly button really aches because of an incision and my other incisions really ache as well. It's hard to describe, but it's almost like my incisions are pulling and they are really sensitive to touch especially the incision on my right side. My lower back is really achy too. My last lap I only took one percocet every few hours and now I'm taking two. I talked to Dr. Redwine about it and he's fine with it. He thought next week I could go down to one and then eventually taper off. I had my first post poop yesterday. That was a wonderful experience and I was able to poop again today. I'll post our pick on Facebook soon Jess. I've been so fried today I haven't done much of anything. Unfortunately my pretty nails got all chipped. I want to buy some of that nail polish you have though Jess. It's so pretty. Maybe I can con my Mom into painting my nails this week.

Glad you're home safe and sound now! I'm not sure if you're still seeing an acupuncturist, but if you are, see if you can get in for that incision pain - they can do wonders for that!
I hope you get lots of rest and recovery quickly (but don't over do it!)!

I'm still having a pretty tough time. My body isn't dealing with the pain meds very well. I've started to get really nauseous and am getting a rash on my arm from the Percocet. I'm going to try to take just one tomorrow and cope with Aleve or something.
I feel better in other ways. I'm just frustrated by all this relentless pain.

I know it's not as strong at all, but my doc said it was ok to take both ibuprofen and Tylenol so I alternated those every two hours (with a heavier dose of ibuprofen) so I always had something in my system. The other meds make me boot, so not much of a choice there. Sorry you are still in so much pain, paint.

I hope you feel better soon, Paint! I remember when I had my lap and it was on a Friday and I thought I could go back to work on Monday. Yeah, right! I was off work for a whole week.
