Well....yes and no. The most exciting thing is that we've been given the day off in honour of it, which I think is what most people are pleased about! There some avid Royal Family fans who'll be taking it very seriously, and I believe there are a number of street parties around the country. They close off roads, neighbours put tables out and everyone brings food and drink. My street isn't, but I've had an invitation through the door from my local community centre to go and join them for free refreshments. Which probably means a cup of tea and a biscuit! I told Karen that 30+ years ago it probably would have been a really big deal, with more street parties all over the palace. I remember one from when I was a kid in my Gran's street, it was either the Jubilee or Charles and Di's wedding, can't quite remember. Probably Charles and Di. I loved it, but there just isn't quite the same sense of neighbourly community spirit now as there was back then. But hell yeah, I'll be watching it on TV to see the fancy dresses and what not. I think she's lovely, she's come from a background no different to mine so she's a 'commoner' done good. And I have quite a soft spot for Wills too. No doubt I'll get a bit emotional, and I'll be thinking about Diana not being there.

Yeah, last Friday was a public holiday for Good Friday, today is a holiday for Easter Monday, this Friday is the wedding bank holiday, and next Monday is a holiday for May Day. Loads and loads of people have taken off the Tue Wed Thur this week so you get 11 days off for the price of 3. Not me though...the two girls I work with beat me to it so I'm in on my own! I've taken next week off though so I still get the benefit of the extra days.

I think it would be amazing if it was 30 years ago with street parties everywhere and everyone really involved, but I think these days, people want to see her dress and then enjoy the extra day off work. I took the three days off so I get 11 off!

Well I have made my Royal Romance display at the library. I do not know much about the couple but I can not wait to see the dress and all of it. When Princess Diana walked the isle I remember watching it and I can tell you the exact spot I was in when she passed. Kinda a bit of childhood coming out with the wedding. A ton of patrons are really into the Royals and I wanted to make a display for them too. Its a big day I may even wear a hat and cute dress that day. I am the crazy librarian LOL! You girls will have all the dish before we do. It will be what 3 am here? So lovely you get the day off and a street party I say make your own....I would be doing it yep tea and biscuits for all;)

I like the whole frolic of it all. So nice we can still have romance. I think Will is just adorable ever since he was little. It's going to be so lovely, I'll figure out a way to watch it

Here is the clip of Princess Diana and what stood out me when Princess Diana was in clip of when she was on the steps and her long train and massive bouqet. I really must be a romantic it makes me feel so great to see so much tradition in weddings. Her walking the isle is just a over whelming feeling of joy, tears, pressure and she handled it all with class as always. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUwu6MOlyrU

I was completely uninterested, not happy, not against it. But I see Kate and I think 'wow' and it sounds completely nuts to say it aloud finally but she has a little bit of Diana's ways about her. It will be pure training and breeding like a horse but she has something very lovely about her. He definitely picked someone like his mother Now if only Harry would ditch that nasty looking Chelsea chick.

Aww I liked the video! I don't know what it is about this royal wedding but I'm kinda excited! Maybe it's the fairy tale, maybe it's the tradition of royalty that we don't really have here in the states.. I don't know it's just cool! LOL

I was just talking about the wedding with a couple of girls I work with. It is a pretty huge deal in Canada, I guess since we are technically subject to the British monarchy. I swear, every single channel every day is filled with movies, documentaries, discussions of the wedding. And MacLean's Magazine (probably the leading Canadian socio-political magazine) just did ANOTHER "Special Wedding Issue"
