I have better self esteem. I learned that I have a REALLY high tolerance for pain and I'm not a wimp. I also have no problem talking about bodily functions anymore. I need to talk about these things sometimes and it feels good to just be able to blurt it out!! Also, getting to know all of you and knowing that I'm not alone. This group is the BEST!!

I'm don't take no for an answer anymore. The best part of this has been learning and knowing the questions to ask my doctors, and pushing and pushing for the right treatment FOR ME, not the right treatment for everyone.

I love, Love, LOVE this thread!! In addition to the reasons you ladies already mentioned, I will add that my body image has improved. This diet is making my belly fat disappear and my body looks awesome to me (and my husband )! I'm noticeably leaner but probably weigh more because it's muscle. This may sound a bit hippie but I feel like I moved from an opposing (abusive seems a little too strong) relationship with my body to BEING my body. I ruled with my head and forced my body to do what I thought I wanted. Now it's more like a partnership. The endo pain was a wake-up call from my body to live in the present and physical world, and prioritize my life better.

For me it's been following my instinct when I dont feel right. Knowing that something is up and someone needs to listen. Endo has helped me learn my body's signals. I would also like to advocate for those who have been diagnosed or even those who dont know. I know the fear of not knowing is enough to drive anyone crazy so being a support to someone going through this means a lot to me.

I have realised how strong I really am. I can be much more empathetic towards other illnesses. I'm not so hard on myself if I can't keep the house clean. On my good days I have incredible confidence because I am dealing with endo, no one else is in my body, just me, so I am the reason I'm still here! But out of all that, I know I'm not weak, I am strong because a weak person would not be where I am today, emotionally healthy and appreciating the little things in life xxx
