We never had a problem with my daughter eating whatever we eat. I got a little babyfood mill, and I just put whatever we were eating into the mill, couple cranks, and fresh babyfood of food we eat from the table. We have never had any issues from ice cream to sauerkraut!
I see so many moms who are basically short-order cooks, preparing whatever (usually unhealthy) food the individual kid wants in addition to the "family" meal. It just baffles me! It's also insulting when I prepare a nice meal for guests just to have the mom ask me for potato chips for her kids' dinner, even though I went thru all the trouble to prepare such a great, tasty, and healthy meal. And I'm talking chips for the kids' entire meals! Not in addition to. It's like, don't even make the kids *try* what I made. Then I feel bad for not allowing my daughter chips when the other kids are having chips.
I'm definitely not a short order cook here. Eat what the family has, or go to bed hungry!
