So I felt a little weird using a cliche as the title.. but that is exactly how I feel right now. For starters, my Granddad (who I am very very close to) has been in intensive care since the 9th. He went to the hospital with a twisted intestine and ended up having emergency surgery due to kidney failure. After the surgery he had a heart attack and is now down to 20% of his heart function. He has woken up a few times and communicated (mostly through grunts), but the prognosis doesn't look good. Plus, this week was midterms.. I had exams and projects due, so I pretty much lived at school and the hospital. And as a result of all that stress and lack of sleep I became sick. I have had a fever all week, I lost my voice, and I feel awful in general. I have six siblings and they have all been staying at my house (which is wonderful, we are very close), but it is a very full house, lots of extra cooking and cleaning, and there's not enough beds to go around, so I have been alternating between the floor and the couch. I hate to whine, but things are really tough right now and I am just looking for support. Thanks for reading!

Anjibella, I'm so sorry you're going thru what you are...I know what you're feeling. I feel similar with everything going on in my life but I hope the best for you and that things improve. Keep talking if it helps make you feel better! *hugs*

Aww I'm so sorry. It does sound really hard right now. I recently lost my Grandpa after complications of lung surgery and it's still fresh in my memory. And it happened right at final exam week. He was like a second father to me. You can always come here to vent if you need. What I love most about being a member here is that no matter what I go through there is someone who knows how I feel because they have been through it too. It's so nice to have people who understand. Hang in there girl! Let the sibs help you around the house too!

Thanks for all your suppport guys My illness turned out to be strep throat.. but luckily some antibiotics and bed rest took care of it and I am now almost 100%. (Though I am completely wiped out!!) My exams and projects went pretty well (I hope!!) and I am now back at school after reading week. My Granddad is still with us, and is much more lucid and communicative, but going downhill. He now has access to morphine and they may move him to pallative care. Luckily, he still has a great sense of humour, and I try to visit him every day, especially since there is not much time left. Last night I went into the kitchen to make tea and found that my dad had gone to my Granddad's house and removed all the food - crackers, chocolates, pickles, etc. and I just started BAWLING. And then the past couple days have been incredibly painful endo-wise.. I went a while without pain pills but the last couple days I have hda to dope myself right up on them. Though that is obviously not my main concern right now!

Well I'm glad you're feeling better. School is so hard to deal with when you have other things going on because you can't just take a sick day! I'm sorry about your Grandpa's health. It's so sad
