If this isn't an appropriate topic please feel free to delete or move to an area where it is fitting. I've been doing a lot of research on makeup, perfumes, and beauty care products in general and have found that there are so many awful ingredients in them. Some of those terrible ingredients are in items I use in my regular routine. I'm looking for things that are paraben free and I was also curious if anyone knew whether I should avoid things that have soy in them as well? I know I shouldn't be eating things with soy in them because it can trigger the endo so is it safe to say that I shouldn't be using makeup, shampoo, conditioner etc with soy in it as well? Thanks for the help. Hope this is ok to post.

I'm not too familiar with stuff that's "safe" for endo as far as beauty care products. I know that there is a lot of natural stuff out there. Personally I just buy whatever but I recently discovered I am allergic to my damn hair conditioner! All this time my scalp has been inflammed and itchy and it was the stupid conditioner. It was expensive too! Do you have a "Wholefoods" grocery store around you? They sell TONS of healthy natural beauty products.

I've heard Arbonne (sp?) - it's an in-home type sales thing - is all paraben free and supposed to be better, though it's super $$$. I've been slowly switching to sulfate-free (Loreal) shampoo and conditioners, and I'm surprised to find that my hands, which are normally full of eczema, are much better now... Not perfect, but there's a noticeable improvement! Trader Joes sells some less harsh/organic shampoos, conditioners, and body washes that I've been using as well, and they're not expensive!

My mom swears by melaleuca products. www.melaleuca.com/Our whole entire family is sensitive to EVERYTHING and she started buying this stuff and swears that everyone's allergies, rashes, and asthma are much better. If anyone is interested in these products I can hook you up with some info. This stuff is all natural and safe. They preach being a very green company too! They make everything from makeup, hair products, to cleaning products. I want to try it when I can convince the damn husband!

Arbonne is awesome. Very pricey tho. Aveeno products is what I use most of the time. I am so sensitive. It has worked so far. I can pick it up at the drug store and almost always find a coupon too. Make up for me was always the Bare Minerals and I love the brand. However I started to experiment with the drug store brands and they work just as well. The price is so much better and again coupons can be used. I will splurge tho on the Buxum Bare Mineral lip gloss I love how it tingles my lips and makes me feel like I have the big lips I was born without. I have tried so many beauty products over the years I have tried to teach my niece she is 14 to not use the harsh products she is so sensitive too but sees all her friends wearing and using them. She gets it I think her breakouts are going to happen but w the right stuff I hope not as bad. I am so glad to ne OLD LoL and a little wiser I think? I no longer run out and buy that expensive new makeup that will make me flawless I except the flaws and head to the drug store w my coupons:)

I work at Whole Foods so I use a lot of natural products, but not a whole lot when it comes to beauty stuff. I've found that a lot of their shampoo's and conditioners just dry out my hair. I was doing a lot of research last night and found some brands that I'm going to switch to. I'll let you know what I come up with. I was going through my makeup products last night and found that most of everything has parabens in it. That was disappointing.

"Paint" That's a bummer to hear that the shampoos at whole foods dry out your hair. I was going to try their stuff next! I have REALLY long hair so I would rather not use something that's going to end up costing me like 7 inches needing to be cut. I'm kinda lost for what to try next. I loved my old Matrix hair conditioner but when I figured out that it was the conditioner causing all my scalp issues I had to stop using it.

Oh and I just recently went to an ethnic type beauty supply store and they have TONS of skin care products! I bought a pure vitamin A & D oil for my skin and LOVE IT. There's nothing weird in it, no perfume. Just pure vitamin. It's awesome! My skin is so soft!!

Do you guys have 'Lush' over there? Yes! You do (I just looked!) www.lushusa.com/shopI LOVE Lush over here, it's expensive so I ask for stuff for birthdays and Xmas!! My hands are ridiculously dry all year round, to the point where they crack and bleed constantly. I use a couple of their hand creams as nothing else works and my hands are crack and blood free!!!
