Thanks for posting babe. So sorry you've had to go through all of this, hopefully you'll be on the mend soon and others can learn from your experience and make sure we don't take no for an answer.

Hey keri, thank you for posting. You didn't need to go through all that to get the diagnosis and I'm so shocked that the GI doc never bothered to tell you he didn't have privileges there . I swear if I lived closer I'd be all up in it! lol I hope you are feeling better. I'm so sad that all of this hell you went through could have been easily treated. Did you ever get the results back for the Celiac disease? I wonder if that's all related.

I was thinking the same thing about Celiac, Jenaya! Keri - I think you're an incredibly strong woman. I know you have a lot to cope with and I can imagine it's not easy, but if you can put up such a good fight now while you're feeling like crap, you'll be a force to be reckoned with when you're back to full strength!! Big hugs, hun!

Thank you so much ladies. So much has happend and I will get in details I just had to post how much appreciate all of you. As Jenaya posted we found out yesterday its a gi infection we still have another scope to do and I'm not sure when I get to go home. A lot has been missed in this case starting w the Er doc a month and a half ago. Its so sad. The issue is common but left untreated can cause horrible things. We do not know yet about that. If I can say anything that will help everyone learn from this be proactive in your health and demand when you feel neglected. Docs are not G~d nor are the insurance companies. They need to treat us w respect demand that too and honesty. My gi doc never told me he didn't have privileges here. I was left wout a gi doc w the help of friends and nurses I got one and had my egd done within a hr of seeing him. Like cherry said a scope that could of been done a month ago. In the wrong hands tho my body has went thru hell. I still have faith tho I can do this. Its gonna take a lot but I got this. We have yet to decide if we will file anything more then complaints. Waiting on a few tests to see how they turn out. This is a case of neglect by many. Docs heard endometriosis and cared not to even bother w me. Gastritis google search shows all my symptoms yes it was that simple scope the didn't do that could of prevent this. Its so sad! L'chaim ~to life~ Keri

Make sure you get an H.Pylori test too, it can be a cause of gastritis.

Thanks for the update Keri! I think heads should roll and you should sue - all of your medical costs should be covered because of this being missed. I'm so angry for what has happened to you and I hope you get thru this quickly! My hubby has been telling me to not even tell the doctors that I have endo - he said let them make their own diagnosis - seems that when they hear endo they just write everything off. Best wishes!!!!

I hate that everything gets blamed on endo. I tend to blame all of my aches and pains on endo too. It does cross my mind not to tell them I have it just so they'll take me seriously but not telling a doctor something can be a bad thing. So my new speech I give is "I went to my OB first for this problem and he ruled out anything endo related." That tends to help shut them up. lol We love you keri! I really hope that this didn't cause any permanent damage

I agree with Jenaya, We all tend to think endo first and it isn't always the endo. In this case though... you went to the right doctors and still got the wrong help. So very stupid of them!! feel better soon!

Thanks for updating. I've been thinking about you a lot this week and sending lots of well wishes your way. I am so sorry for all you have had to endure and suffer through. It makes me furious to think that much of this could have been prevented. My prayers go out to you and I hope there will be brighter days ahead.

Oh My Goodness... You poor thing. I have only just started recovering at home from a "Medical Mishap" from my bowel resection surgery. (Endo had penetrated through the bowel wall, so was resected, then it leaked, got readmitted to hosp, nearly died, had septic insides heading towards organ failure, had another surgery to have total clean out and refix, and awoke with drains, more massive slices in my belly and a ileostomy bag...) so i totally understand your frustrations! WIll write a more thorough post on another thread. Hope you start to feel more "human" soon...... x

I am glad it wasn't scar tissue from endo as we may have feared but I pray to God that it's not going to lead to further trouble with it being left so long. I agree with you Keri and the other girls, doctors hear endometriosis and you see in their eyes that they switch off. They don't want to treat the many causes of issues brought on by endo as a disease that has a wide range of knock-on effects for the body, they will treat the symptoms yes, but in between treating the effects of endo and missing other serious issues that are not even related to endo, there's a lot of us falling through the cracks of healthcare and it's not excusable and not right. Keri it's so like you and so big hearted of you to already be using your situation as a cautionary tale for the rest of us to fight our corner where our health is concerned. I am glad we know what it is at least and praying it hasn't gone into darker territory with talk of cancer and permanent damage. How are your kidneys and how are you getting on now with being in hospital still. I'm glad you were at least able to come read the messages from us all and that you updated us, sending big hugs xx

Aw kimbo I'm sorry to hear you've also had a real bad time of it too. Feel free to start a thread about your experience. I have a friend who had some similar issues just for removing an ovarian cyst, hope you're well now?
