is there a thread on fatigue or exhaustion? so far I haven't seen one and if there is please direct me there. I was wondering what is the connection with endo and fatigue? I am exhausted ALL the time and wondering is it depression or am I just tired? Is it fighting the pain all the time causing exhaustion? I dont feel like the same person and have trouble getting up, my doctor tested me for depression and said I was fine, does anyone else get completely wiped out and have to sleep all day? and then when your up for like 5 hours have to go back to bed? so frustrating, I used to have tons of energy but now all I do is sleep!

Does any of this ring a bell for you? cjlevett.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=related&action=display&thread=3951I was able to get to the bottom of my constant fatigue and am getting treatment (supplements) for it through my doc. Funny thing, I was in a meeting all day yesterday and wasn't able to take my afternoon dose and by the time I drove home from work last night, the exhaustion was back. Was quite a reminder of how far I've come in the last few months as I hadn't felt that way in a long time!

I feel you nichole! I got a full nights sleep, have been up for 2 hours, and I'm already tired again. At home after working half a day, I have to lay on the couch.... I however am recovering from surgery but I am familiar with feeling like this from before surgery.... Seems like it takes next to nothing to wear me out. Anyway just my 2 cents. Let us know how you get on....

wow! the adrenal hypofunction sounds like me, I have low body temperature, weakness, hair loss, irritability, hypoglycemia, inability to concentrate, I'm always hungry and don't gain weight, poor memory, lightheaded/dizziness when standing, low BP, food allergies and some new allergies too, dry thin skin and migraines, and I never drink because it makes me sick, this is a walking check list for how I feel! now to get my doctor to agree lol I always feel like I'm in a fog at work and if someone asks me for something I go to get it and then when I get to where I was headed I forget why! lol so incredibly frustrating. I could sleep all night like 10 hours and do a few things around the house and want to go back to bed, surgery is somethign that can cause the hypofunction as well as chronic pain that totally makes sense! thanks karen

There are whole books on adrenal fatigue, check out the other thread for lots more info. The only thing is that most 'traditional' docs don't know much about it because it's typically not treated by pharmaceuticals... But, you can at least request a cortisol/dhea test, but do your research first so you don't get shot down for any testing!! Honestly, for me, the changes have been INCREDIBLE and I'm shocked that it took 1-1/2 of complaining about being exhausted (among everything else) to actually have it even taken seriously. There IS hope!!!!

I am constantly tired, and I don`t do alot - except look after my kids. I had more energy when I took my omega 3,6,9 (Fish oils) but even then it took about three weeks to do it. I can`t aford them anymore, so I don`t take them, but I can completely relate to having no energy. I have daily pain and I think that has a lot to do with it. on the days the pain isn`t as bad, I have more energy, if i am having a really bad pain day, I have zip for energy. Hang in there.

thanks I have doctors appointment in 2 weeks I will bring it up! I went to the natural health food store and talked to them about adrenal hypofunction and they asked if I had even been tested for fibromyalgia but it sounds to me more like adrenals anyways I am starting the adrenal all supplement but DHEA is not supplied in canada!! so here's hoping the other supplement works. lack of energy has to do with pain you constantly in a "fight" mode with your body and its exhausging. Tara I'm afraid to have kids like this for fear of not being able to keep up with them even tho I'm young but I know you just make it work regardless. thanks for your story

I could be totally wrong but I really think this has to do with the fact that our bodies are constantly fighting an illness. I believe that the Chronic pain/endo is draining on the body and its resources. I thought at first it was all the surgeries, but my last one was just under a year ago and I still find myself falling asleep on the couch like an old lady when I try to watch tv or a movie with the family. I know that there are other things like Hypo thyroid, or the adrenal funciton that can cause it but...?

Cortisol is supplied by the adrenals, and when your body is constantly under stress your body produces cortisol all the time, and eventually your adrenals can putter out if they are being overworked. so, yes, constant stress to your body can result in adrenal problems, which include fatigue. The body is all connected.

well even if I sleep for 10 hours I wake up and don't feel rested at all, my job keeps me going and forces me to get out of bed but I do have a lot of "crash" days and feel like spending time with others is forced because I'm sooooo tired and yes I agree that we are constantly fighting an illness and that is a major factor I felt great after my second surgery for about 6 months but I also have a lot of other stressors in my life on top of the endo so that doesn't help, I decided to start taking the adrenal support supplement and go from there!

I take lots of vitamin c and a vitamin called 'b-active' which both really help me, they both help your body to release and utilise the energy from your food. I started the mega doses of vitamin c to help me lose the excess weight I'd gained and it seems to have boosted my general feeling alertness and energy levels.

I know going to the gym and getting regular exercise helps boost your overall energy but how the heck do you get yourself motivated to get to the damn gym??
I've had my first bout of fatigue these last few months. I'm sick with something but doctors are completely baffled over my symptoms. The fatigue is unreal! I remember one morning in particular I took two 300mg caffeine pills and drank a cup of black tea and I was falling asleep at the wheel. I have to fight to get out of bed sometimes. It's very difficult to deal with and I've only had this problem for 3 months. I can't imagine how you guys deal with this all the time.

3000mg, that's 3 of those fizzy tabs. Any excess you don't need comes out in your urine so there's no worry.
