Hi All,
Can I offer you a bit of advice if you are cutting out foods..
1. replace them with foods that have a similar vitamin and mineral content.
2. Don't worry about going gluten free, wheat is the problem and oats are very very good at balancing hormones, they have helped me become pain free so I recommend keepin them in your diet.
3. Don't try and cut down on your sugar that much as you may start to experience low sugar problems. Eat oats and wholegrain foods to sustain you sugar levels and drink watered down fruit jucies. I have been pain free for almost a year now after suffering with tremendous pain that I ended up in A&E more times than I care to remember!! I still eat sugar.
4. Take a good multi vitamin or mineral.
I have written my regime down a few times throughout the boards but I will tell you what I eat and don't eat. My weight dipped when I first started but now I am band smack in the healthy weight range!
I don't eat Tomatoes, Potatoes, wheat, dairy or cocoa.
I eat lots of OAts, sweet potatoes, vegetables, wholegrain rice.
I drink rice milk fortified with calcium and I make sure I have a good oat based breakfast every morning which I add seeds too (and a bit of sugar:)
I eat plenty of meat (organic chicken where possible) and I eat tuna and fish (I am a bit of a sushi fan too:)
I put salt on my food as when I cut that out I had real blood pressure problems i.e low blood pressure so to anyone who is of a slim build with low blood pressure Do not cut out salt!!!!
I take the following supplements
Biocare 1000 mg Vitamin C (buffered always go for the buffered form never the ascorbic Acid form go for magnesium ascorbate or potassium ascorbate)
I take Lamberts mulit mineral (high potency 2 a day)
I take Combizym enzymes with every meal
VSL3 probiotics 2 sachets a day.
When I first had the pain (when It was so bad that I spent a week in bed when I got my period and still felt ill even when I had no period) I took agnus castus and licorice root (do not tke licorice root if you have HIGH blood pressure)
I also took calcium d-glucarate and biodim but now I am pain free I don't feel the need to take these anymore. I also used to take belladonna, sepia and bellis something (I can't remember the name bellis perenis or something like that!)
I drink lots of apple juice (the reason why I have stated this as I have a suspicion that apple juice may be contributing to my pain free endo) My cysts have all gone (I had about 8) I have 1 left but I am getting another scan next week and last time I checked it it hadn't got larger after a year.
So there it is, I had endo level 3 and now I have 1 cyst left and have avoided a lap.
