only 6 days from what looks like ovulation to AF! But, keeping in mind that this is only my 2nd period since the surgery, and the first one took 44 days! so am giving myself another month to normalize, and keep temping, and research.... going to TTC anyway but I suspect that it is just taking longer to get back on schedule and hopefully this month will have a really obvious temp spike and another luteal phase to look at. Don't want to get too freaked out since I know my body is still healing/getting on track.... thanks for the tip. I will read thru the thread this evening with my TCOYF book handy.... thank you miss K! only 5 months till my WI trip!!!!!!

Yeah, I think it'll take some time for your body to normalize, but if you can do something to gently nudge it in the right direction, it's worth looking into! Perhaps you'll be preggers by the time you make it to WI.

oh, I hope not. I want to go to the Wisco, to the Plaza, Paul's Club, Nick's, and LE TIGRE (nasty, but has a cool tiger... actually a mangy, nasty tiger.... well, it was cool ten years ago. maybe it's just dust now). I intend to DRINK my way across the state (twice). But if I'm pregnant, I'll just EAT MY WAY ACROSS bwaaaaah ha haaaa! plus I heard a rumor that endo symptoms dissapear when you are Pregnant so maybe that would make FRIED CHEESE an option! ok, either way is fine!

Pretty - have you had your appointment yet?
I just realized on the way home from work yesterday that I haven't had the typical endo pain in a few days/weeks. It's like I almost forgot about it for a bit! I still have the odd pelvic pain if I eat something I shouldn't, but other than that I've been feeling really good. Could it be that I'm really truly getting better??

You girls got any names of bioidentical progesterone pills? I'm thinking of asking my NP to try them, but I'd like to educate myself a little more on them. Any basics I should know?

Prometrium is the only bio-identical pill that I know of that you can get at a normal pharmacy. If I remember correctly it only comes in two doses. It's a round ball that's a bit squishy so it can't be split to change the dose at all. I was on it for a bit but found I had some weird side effects so my doc switched me to a pill from a compounding pharmacy since it's only made up of the capsule, progesterone, and olive oil - no fillers. The beauty with a compounded formula is that the dose can be adjusted to fit YOUR needs and then the pharmacy makes pills at your exact dose. That's why you won't really find many brand names of bio-identical pills. If this is a route you're willing to try, be sure your doc tests your current hormone levels and prescribes a dose accordingly. Some docs may just write a script for an insanely high dose without actually determining if it's the correct dose for you and you might be left feeling like crap. High doses of progesterone can cause serious drowsiness and sluggishness among other things. That being said, a lot of 'traditional' docs aren't educated or comfortable with bio-identicals and may try to steer you towards BC. If that's the case with your NP, you may have to ask her for the name of someone who regularly prescribes bio-identicals. Might be worth checking out www.womensinternational.com/request_referral.html for a referral to a doc that prescribes them. I only mention that so you don't get discouraged if she's not on board. But fingers crossed she is!! Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions. Oh, and there should be some good overall info and links at the beginning of this thread if I remember correctly.

ugh. So my new regiment of progesterone didn't work out so well for me. I have an extremely heavy period (like it was before I started taking progesterone) and lots of cramping, including my right side pain. I have a feeling that it's more about the 100mg of progesterone that first week rather than breaking for my period. It wasn't enough to prevent the endometrium from building up on days 6-13. Well, I'm mostly concerned about the pain and not the bleeding, but I have both and I know the more I bleed from my period, probably, I'm also bleeding more from my endo. So I think I need to try it at 150/200, or it might have to be 200 the whole time as the ONLY month that I had no pain at all was when I took 187mg all month. And yet, I did have spotting for 12 days, but at least I had no pain. I know it's less "natural" to take it as a high dose all month, but that was the only thing that got rid of the pain totally. Sigh. So this is only my first day of my period. Yuck. I hope it passes quickly. Another thing I noticed was that I was having hot flashes the past few nights. Not anything extreme, but noticeable enough to wake me up. Not sure what that is from, but seemed to happen when I stopped taking the progesterone (wednesday was my first day off). I also started back strict on the endo diet a week ago, but I think it's not long enough to make a difference either. Karen, I know this is how you are taking your progesterone and it seems to work well for you (and you take less than me). But I guess it just doesn't work that for me. Pretty, did you have your appointment yet?

Remind me - are you still taking the troches, or did you switch to a different form?
Whatever the case, it doesn't matter what my dose is compared to you, it's what your body needs based on your hormone levels! Might want to talk to your doc about gradually bumping it back up? I hope this period passes quickly and isn't painful the entire time!
The last time I was at my doc we agreed to keep me at 75 mg until I ovulate, and only then bump me up to 150. We think bumping up to 150 mg before I ovulate is preventing or delaying ovulation. I haven't ovulated yet this month (day 31) and have been eating like a pig so I suspect my period is near. Good news is that I'm seriously mostly pain free almost all the time!!! Took me a while to get to this point, but I think I'm where I need to be for the most part. Yay! Hope you get there soon, too!!

Karen,
Yeah, I know what works for you might not work for me since we are different people with different issues, different ages, etc. I was referring to the way you take them - lower until ovulation then higher the last two weeks. It IS more natural according to the way our bodies work, but for me, it seems like it was just the same as if I hadn't taken anything. I just freak out when I get more pain as it worries me that the endo is growing.
My NP said I could email her with an update (I'm due to see her in a month), so I'll do that and see what she thinks, but apparently I need to bump up my dose.
yes, I am still taking the troches, but I'm thinking it might be better to switch to either cream or oral and see what difference that makes. I was prowling around on the internet and some people say the absorption isn't that great with troches. It's very fast and some is lost in the saliva which you then swallow.
It's a bit better today. Still some pain in my side and cramps, but not as heavy as yesterday, which was a mess. Hopefully I won't have the pain after my period ends too, which I did have last month (although virtually none during my period). I don't think I ovulated this period either. Actually the past year or so, I think I mostly did not. Usually I can tell and I did this summer a few months when I was using the cream. But I am 45, so that is not surprising. Oh, and the hot flashes stopped last night.
