A friend sent me a link to this article, and I thought it might be of interest to you. It talks about the effects of unsafe, unregulated chemicals on our health. I know that these can have an effect on endometriosis and in many cases can even cause endometriosis. I think this will be of particular interest to those of you who have children or are planning to have children. www.nrdc.org/onearth/06win/chem1.asp

Ok, found this article a while back, which focuses on research into iron and it's effect on endometriosis. I felt like kicking myself as I used to take a lot of iron (to make up for heavy blood loss during periods) and it seems like there may be a link between excess iron and growth of endometrial cells. It's nothing to panic over, and I'm so glad there is research into preventing it rather than just new ways of operating on it/controlling it with hormones! Please, no debates on animal testing. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/5210998.stm

wow, cherry, I wish I knew if that mouse study with iron was true with humans. I just now started taking iron supplements thinking I was lacking that, but that does make me wonder now.

My doctor just prescribed iron for me since my iron was low, so I wonder if I should be making things better or worst. Actually I was thinking of increasing food with high iron instead of taking the pills.

if you do notice a difference while taking more iron, let your doc know.... it sure makes me wonder, although it seems some women on here get relief by taking the iron, so who knows.

It's an interesting issue ( I freaked as I was very heavy on the iron intake) but this thread is for people to post articles. Discussion best in it's own thread/tacked onto a related thread. Makes this thread easier to read through and refer to

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7553833.stmDoes lack of vitamin D increase chronic pain in women? I know I'm happier during the summer but I wouldn't say I'm in less pain? Be very interesting to see where this research goes, could be a great excuse to go on hols ;D

Brilliant stacey thanks. The university involved is local too (they are our rivals haha) so I may go offer myself up as a study case! Good to know that there is always an endeavour to find out what causes endo
