The insurance won't cover bioidentical cream because its not on the drug formulary. I only use the Premarin once a week. I really doubt it has any systemic affect at all. I'm on Biosynthetic Estrogen and Progestin daily.

The compounded stuff is very reasonable. I pay for mine out of pocket and it's about the same as a prescription copay. If that's an option it's totally worth it. They don't have fillers and marketing costs like traditional drugs.

I have a huge thing of premarin unfortunately which will probably last forever, but I may look into it eventually. however that's really not the issue here but the HRT's that I take every day is, and that's the estriol and progestin. Dr. Mosbrucker is a highly respected doctor and an expert in hormones but... I feel so lost. ugh!
ps.. how do you change the title to a thread?

My hubby and I talked and I keep re-reading your comment Karen and I think I will try and get an appointment with someone, and I think someone locally would be better, because then I can get testing and what not here. I can also adjust as much as we can. Ultimately I suspect a trip back to Dr. Mos and more surgery is going to happen but for now I have to be able to finish school. The only two gyno's in town are both older than dirt and have never felt comfortable dealing with my endo because its so extreme but maybe they will feel comfortable dealing with hormones. I will try it out and if they are up to date on their hormones and agree to bio's then I will go from there. I'll update once I have the appointment.

Dr Mos RN called and it was not a good conversation. I at least stayed calm and tried to explain my situation and the fact that the doctors here are just not willing or able to work with me due to the fact that they don't have a clue what to do, they won't even make an appointment with me. The only suggestion Dr. Mos had was to go to a pain clinic and get on Narcotics. No tests, no cutting back on the hormones, or going off of them, no increase in the Progestin. I'm so confused and lost. I have come full circle from the PCP who refused to even order a CT and would only give me Narcotics. Isn't that awesome! The conversation with the hubby didn't go so stellar either. I'm done with the hormones though. I'm sure the damage is done and the only reason I kept on them was so I could stay on Dr. Mosbruckers good side by staying on them. I hate this! I hate having a freakin disease that no one knows how to treat, and you have to try and explain to everyone who asks and you can't. Its ridiculous! I really have reached the end of my rope. I'm hoping things will calm down in my body if I get off this roller coaster but I really feel as if I'm going quite mad. I just hope that magically my sex life doesn't go to the crapper without the cream and that horrible itching doesn't come back, cause I just don't know if I can deal with all the pain and have to deal with horrible sex and itching as well.

I finally got to talk to the RN at doctor Mos' office again and told her (for the fourth time) that what I was asking was can I got off of the hormones. She told me yes but she would double check with the doctor and call me back if for reason I should stay on them. She didn't so I'm off. My skin is thanking me as I was developing a big issue with the adhesive. I would have had to switch to a pill form anyways. My hubby thinks the hormones make me "bat crazy" anyways so I'm happy about that. I can continue to use cream once a week, the last two weeks and unfortunately I think it may be the culprit as the horrible pelvic pain post coitus has continued. Either that or the damage has already been done and the endometriosis has just grown back and until I can afford surgery (haven't paid off the last one) and have the time to do it... I'm stuck?

Hmm, I'd just record everything to see how you feel on the HRT or not. a detailed pain & symptom journal may be the only way to sort all of this out. Has the post-sex pain been any better at any point throughout all of this?

No, its getting worse. It takes longer to recover and its more debilitating. I spent most of the last two days riding the couch after a farewell parting from the hubby. It was hurting to have sex but that got better after I started the hormones and was mostly due to the horrible dryness and vaginal atrophy.

I did it, I got an appointment with a local gynecologist. He is very nice and I have been to him previously. I very carefully made a list of what I needed and the questions I have and he actually asked if he could look at it, I meant to use it just to keep myself on track. I explained why I went on the HRT's and why I went off. We are going to try a different patch, as I was having a reaction to the adhesion. He also made an appointment in two months for follow up. He is an older doctor and semi retired and he let me know in case I wanted to find another doctor but the other doctor is just as old and there is no one else. He did a quick exam and was super careful (something I'm NOT used to). I said as he was about to start that everything down there is pretty tender and he said he had planned ahead and was using the smallest speculum. He also did a quick CMP since I may have to switch to oral medication and its hard on the liver. He was just very thorough. I brought the hubby to help and we both felt okay with his information/knowledge. It isn't going to help the pelvic pain. I have a tentative plan to try and go to the pelvic physical therapist in Wenatchee, if we can find the money. I asked if he knew about it, and he did but there is no one in our valley who does it. He is putting me on a bi/patch estradiol/norethinendrone by a different manufacturer to see if it causes less irritation and I will continue with the once a week cream as he said it looks like it is working very well. I would have a hard time giving that up! Not to brag but the night my hubby came home... so different from only a few months ago and how frustrated I was.

Well that sounds a lot more promising. The last appointment you had you seemed really confused because they weren't very clear with you. This time, it seems like he took his time explaining everything to you and has a good plan going. I am so glad he was careful with you too! Things are a lot less scary when you have a doctor who takes time to make sure you understand. That's so nice! I'm glad you found him and I hope things start improving for you!
