I have been meaning to post a husband rave too. We decided that we no longer needed marriage counseling. We had our last session last week. Our counselor nearly cried when we said goodbye to her. She said she was proud at how hard we have worked. We're on our own now. He's such a great husband now. We have a great relationship. Took a lot of work to get here but I hope that hard work carries on.

I had been thinking a husband rave too, and these raves inspired me to do it! I've felt pretty bummed about not feeling better after my surgery, and have been in a LOT of pain yesterday and today (lower back, right side). Tears kept coming to my eyes while I was biking home yesterday--every bump was so bad.
But my husband is convinced he can solve endo--typical male!--and he is reading all of these strange books on metabolism and diet and other funky things. He won't tell me. However, he announced last night that he thought he could fix 80% of the inflammation by some strange compilation of theories. I'm not sure what they are, but it is so sweet of him to care. I assume I'll become his guinea pig soon--better his guinea pig than some doctor with hormone pills. If anything works, I'll post. But I feel so cared for, even if Shane doesn't know a thing about periods and "woman stuff" like that. I don't even tell him most of the time when I'm hurting because I hate to be the drag on our relationship, so it's just really helpful for me to see him take this on as his fight too.
I hope whatever theories he has do work, because he'll be so disappointed if they don't. My crazy bicycle advocate husband.

that is so sweet. however be careful with your diet, your health is pretty important - but it sounds from your posts like hubby is all over it as far as eating healthy right along with you so hey maybe he can solve the endo diet puzzle! Like Jenaya says, as soon as y'all find that cure please pass it along! you never know....

Pretty - a big pat on the back for Big W! That's awesome that he has your support and accepts that it causes you problems. And if you're period-free on a vacation, that means you can do it in all sorts of locations! Jenaya - as I've said before, am super proud of you two! And RM - if your hubby wants some more reading on how to fix endo, have him either read the endo book in my signature or a book on bio-identical progesterone! I'm 100% convinced he'd come to some of the same conclusions I have. And the other stuff that he comes up with, I'm super excited to hear about!

point taken, Pretty! We've always experimented with different diets--we're food geeks. One time we went raw, but that was in Jan-Feb and when you bike everywhere that is WAY too cold to eat only raw food. But you'll be glad to know that he's decided absolutely with you that soy--particularly in processed soy products--is frightening. So thanks for pushing that!
And Karen, I think he skimmed the Complete Reference book, but he got annoyed by the little comics. I tried to convince him that there was information surrounding the comics, but he went all male and turned off. But he is now reading science books on food and metabolism. Insulin. I have no idea. He's a funny one.
And Jenaya, I"m really impressed at the commitment to marriage counselling. It's so nice to hear a success story of people committed to working on a relationship and making it work. It's really inspiring.

;D I want to say how lucky I have been to have my husband understand everything I have been going through. He has been so much help doing all the house duties, running around, cooking and dealing with little sex. He has been so understanding of me coming home so tired I go right to bed or if i tell him I am having a bad day he sets up the living room with my pillows and blankets so I can spend time with him. He brings me breakfast in bed and most important to me is he listens. My surgery is in a week so I know he is going to have a long couple of days. I just truly would not have been able to make it through this without his support and help. I love my baby.

We have had a rough couple of years between out health, The Fire and having to move 4 times in one year until they fixed our building, the lose of many loved ones over the last 3 years. We have really learned how to be supportive of each other. Communication is so important. I am so lucky and I do make sure he knows it.

Sometimes it takes the hard times to truly appreciate each other when life is going as planned. It's really hard to stick these things out but can result in a very rewarding relationship!
