Sooo, just figured I'd start a thread on tattoos! Anybody have any??? If so, where? I just made an appt for my second one. I'm getting a full size peacock feather starting about 5 inches from under my left arm pit and ending on my thigh. I already have a pegasus on the small of my back. Reason for the peacock feather is it's kind of been my symbol since this whole infertility mess started. Story behind my love for them is....when I found out I had endo and it was the cause for my infertility, I was obviously crushed. It was a giant blow to my ego and I was having a hard time dealing with it. My husband had watched me go through a year of pain and heartache, so this news was not easy for either of us. One night he came home with a giant bouquet of peacock feathers instead of flowers, and they've been by our bedside every since as a symbol of our struggle and for good luck. Needless to say, they're very important to me, so I'm finally taking the plunge and putting one on me forever

Awww that is such a sweet story. When are you getting it done? You will have to post a picture. It sounds amazing! I do not have any tattoos yet. I promised my son who is 9 now that when he graduates from high school we will go together to get one. I know what I am getting his name in hebrew (Jacob) and his sign (Libra). I believe in getting tattoos that mean something to you. My husband it totally against them but he is very conservative. I have a in with Kat Von D and if she is still doing tattoos in 9 years my tattoo and my sons will be done by her. I have friends out in LA and one does makeup with Kat. Take a look at her book if you get a chance it is really cool:) Its amazing some of the stories on her show and in her book. They touch my heart when I watch it.

Ohhh, I love Kat Von D! That's very cool you have connections to her. Her portrait work is absolutely amazing! My appt is for next Friday night at six. I'll be sure to post pics when it's finished!

THe peacock is some Chinese symbol of fertility. How fitting! We have a little peacock feng shui (spelling???) figurine in our bedroom. My husband's sister got it for us. LOL

I don't have any tattoos (I have severe commitment issues!), but I think a peacock tattoo would be incredibly fitting for you and I'm excited for you!

Me too Karen! I could never decide what I wanted stuck to me for the rest of my life, although I always wanted one. I had a ton of things that I thought I wanted 15 years ago, but looking back now, I'm soooo happy I never made the move. I was the dumbass who just stuck needles into all parts of my body (from the neck up only) to adorn myself - which of course had no meaning, but committment-phobe friendly. If I could find something that did have true meaning for me, I would do it in a second.

That's right - you're getting it on your side, right? I think being ticklish might be the least of your worries, but aren't you kind of wondering if it'll tickle?

Yeah, kind of. It's just sooo sensitive right there. I'll try and refrain from acting like a jackas*s the whole time
