There was an alternative doctor on the radio the other day talking about fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. She suggested D-Ribose as a supplement to provide your body with what it needed to function properly, and said that if people will get results, they'll see them within a few weeks.
I don't know any more than that, but if you're interested, do a search online of it and see what comes up!

I'm quite convinced that I have CFS. I'll check it out.

She said there was a study done that showed that people with CFS had a 20% deficiency in ATP (I think?) which is what provides the body with energy (or something like that), and that d-ribose could help with that deficiency? I'm probably screwing this up a bit, but if you find anything in your search, feel free to post here for others!

Thanks for mentioning that, Karen. I've been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and would like to try this stuff out. I actually suspect how I'm doing now has quite a bit to do with the severe reactions I had to the synthetic progestins I was on last year.
Another thing I've heard and read about as being helpful for CFS, FM and Lupus is something called Ambrotose, which is also some form of sugar (from fruit I believe) that assists cells' functions. That stuff is expensive however and is sold via pyramid marketing so I'm leery of that, and also way too broke at this point to shell out for something that pricey. Just thought I'd mention it for those who might be able to afford it and who aren't put off the marketing, who knows, it might be helpful for some.
Other good stuff I am learning about which can be helpful for us is detoxing the liver with drinking lemon water and/or using tinctures of milk thistle and dandilion.. apparently our livers (and kidneys perhaps?) get overwhelmed with metabolising the estrogen which is so dominant in us, so it just recirculates it and this can overload adrenals over time and wear them down, so to speak, so assisting liver and kidney function can apparently really help.

Thanks to alot of docs not believing in fibro my symptoms were ignored for years and l ended up with a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago l was riddled with endo! Fibro is real and l know through experience mine is Not STRESS RELATED AT ALL!!! Every symptom l had l was frowned upon because l was diagnosed with fibro and before that thyroid probs so l have spent many years suffering big style when all the while l KNEW there was something else wrong with me! Be careful girls once you get a fibro diagnosis it will be blamed for everything you suffer!

Funny you mention that - I feel like everything is blamed on endo now! Ssometimes seems like a diagnosis is just an explaination of why docs can't help you...

I totally agree Karen, it's so frustrating when endo is used as a cover all. I mention any other issues, they'll find some way to blame endo and then palm it off because they think only my gynae should deal with it.

I have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, TMJ, migraine and stress headaches, IBS, and suspected fibromyalgia. Like others said, these are mostly syndromes or conditions that result from diseases such as endo. I have seen almost all of these conditions discussed on other boards as somehow being related to endo via estrogen receptors, stress, and hormone levels. Even with the correlation between these symptoms of endo as I think Jenaya might have stated it, I seek help from medical professionals for each symptom in its own right and try to follow as much research and homeopathic remedies as I can. Hang in there!

From now on, when I seek medical attention for something I always say, "I went to my OBgyn first and it's not OB related! We ruled it out so can we move on from the vagina please?"

Dont know if I spelt it correctly but i go to the docs today for a bunch of testing. For the last year or so I have had pain in the breast bone, pain in the back of my neck, pain in the lumbar spine, numbness and tingling in the hands, arms and feet and pain that shoots down both sides of my hips. The told me it was inflammation and damage to the sciatic nerves and joints. Apparently Fibromyalgia is the last thing they wanted to check for but now that my anti-inflammatory meds aren't working they now decide it may be this. Anybody know what's involved in the testing?

Fibromyalgia is really similar to CFS/ME, I thought there were no solid tests except for spinal fluid testing which they never do, simply because it's way too painful for just a simple test. Usually they just use the process of elimination from a bunch of other and much less painful tests like blood, urine etc. I was diagnosed 5 years ago just from blood tests. I could be wrong, maybe it's something to ask google edit: I think I was on the right track, this is a pretty good reference. www.fibromyalgia-symptoms.org/fibromyalgia_diagnosis.html

Thanks Tigerlilyb....thats extremely helpful. Im not into self diagnosing via the internet but I have every single one of those symptoms. They have ruled out arthritis, hormone imbalance, infection and anemia via blood work so what else is left? I do have cancer(non-hodkins lymphoma) but from what my doctor said, cancer will not cause the other symptoms. They better not try and do a TAP because I will run, as fast as I can right out of the office. I am a very big coward when it comes to needles.
