Today I went to the park with my son and tried to do some walking up steps at our Monument. I think about 150 steps is all I was only able to do this twice after feeling exhausted but I knew he wanted to stay so we walked a little more and then left. I feel now as I worked all day which is hard to do anyways but I do it. I have Stage 4 and expect to build my walking up more with each day. Is it always going to be like this? I am 33 108lbs healthy with my eating and weight but no energy at all! I would like to prepare my body if I have to have another surgery any suggestions besides walking?

I would like to prepare my body if I have to have another surgery any suggestions besides walking? I did as much as I could (not as much as I wanted, though) before my lap. Focused a lot on ab work and strength training. I'm convinved that's what spared me from the shoulder gas pains and quick ab recovery. Of course, that could all be in my head, too, but I'll go with it. I was able to start back up with ab work 2 weeks after my lap and was able to do ab work pain free after 5 weeks. (If I dont keep my abs in check, my back gets all messed up.)

Oh man, I know how tough this is!
I started going to Gold's Gym. For a couple, it's $53 a month I think. The elipticals and most of the general machines like that have personal tv's in them!! That way, I watch hours of tv without really noticing I'm on anything!
I also LOVE working out my core. I know all women want a smaller tummy, and I know it can be painful to do this with endometriosis.
There's machines where you don't crunch, but you twist (more for your lat's) but that helps build your tummy.
Also, I hate running, so I stick to the machines mentioned earlier, and I loose weight so much better and tone so much better. Try going with girlfriends, even ones with or without endo, and you'll be surprised how much harder you work.
Frankly, (and this is BAAD,) I LOVE working out because, well... I'm the best looking of my boyfriend's exes. I looked at pictures of them, and my body is better, and going to the gym I always think, "Kellan, work out more so the exes see you and are jealous!"
I also work out to Carmen Electra videos. They teach you how to do a sexy strip tease, or poll dance, or generally make yourself sexier! That way, when I can't have sex because of the pain, I can still turn my man on!
That's my dirty secret, and those are my best words of wisdom, so I really hope some of this works.
Girl, get in gear! It's tough at first, but it makes you feel better and the endorphins released are actually helpful for the pain!
And those chocolate doughnuts you eat during the period times don't stand a chance to sit on your thighs!

I've decided to write myself a list of ALL of the reasons why i should exercise, so that when i am feeling lazy i can look at it and feel motivated. If you'd like i can share it with you all when i am done. I read about this in some research i was doing for work, and it recommends it for weight loss.
Also, kerishafferarkow, are you able to do any swimming? The water supports your body, you dont get any stress on your joints/knees like you do from walking, and it is meant to be a really good low impact form of exercise. Maybe also some low impact yoga or stretching, i've started a stretch class and i LOVE it, you get a really good work out without feeling like you have to run a marathon.

Sorry kajmahoney but you have some issues if your main reason for working out is to look better than your boyfriends exes.. that is so shallow and to say you are the best looking?? sorry but you caught me on a day when i am off work with a chest infection so i just have to say that i hate it when girls talk like that, i find it so immature.
Frankly i work out to stay healthy and toned however i am very limited to what i can do these days.
Good work Rach, i think thats a great idea. Keep us posted on how it goes for you!

Rach - I think that's a great idea! I'd be more than happy to add my own!
When I have a really painful day I know that working out won't help, but on the days that I'm not so miserable, I know it certainly helps! I think many of us would agree that we feel better for the most part when we exercise. I find that I do better when I have some accountability, though, and know that people are checking in on me. Any interest in starting an exercise thread? We can check in after we work out and support each other's efforts/get new workout ideas from others?

Yay for you!
As for the pain, I've experienced a few different kinds of pain during exercise. One I assume is adhesions, and the other depends on where I'm at with my cycles. For what I think is the adhesion pain, I tend to do quite well with Pilates in getting things to losen up so cardio isn't so bad. If you can't do ab/core work, perhaps you can try to work some stretches in of the ab area at least? I've read that gentle exercise can keep adhesions from getting all tight and thick, although I'm not sure I believe that. Any chance your gym has a pool? Swimming is a good cardio workout but with less stress on the body.
Whatever you do, good luck and don't give up! Just modify the game plan a bit to work around the pain.

Make sure you stretch well before you do your cardio- try and loosen up your insides and any adhesions or whatever else might be the problem. Just stretch slowly and take it easy, don't push yourself to where it hurts.
If you can't work around it, don't lose heart, i've read that walking 5 times a week for at least 45 minutes at a moderate pace (still able to carry out a conversation) can be just as good for weightloss as any other cardio. So if you try a few things and notice the pain doesn't get any better, you way have to switch to a less intense form of cardio. But if you do it for longer, it should work out ok. Best of luck!

Oooh, I used to LOVE spin class! The instructor I used to go to was a drill sergeant type - totally kicked my butt! Sadly, he has since left and the other instructors are much more gentle and I don't push myself enough. Good for you for going, and enjoy that choc!!

Just got back from a good run at the gym! I was at a friend's this weekend and had a lot of fried foods and beer. Both my stomach and myself hate me for it right about now, so the run was the good kick in the pants I needed!
I haven't been exercising as much as I would like to be, but I'm feeling better and better each day and so at least it doesn't feel like as much as a chore as it did when I was feeling so yucky every day. I've made a pact with myself that I'll exercise on days that I feel well enough to do so, and I won't on days that I don't feel well. With spring in full swing, it's impossible not to do stuff outside, so that certainly helps!
