Congrats, Tiff. Been pretty busy I'm guessing. We're due on May 30th, so we've got a little way to go still. Not enjoying the last stretch much, but trying to be patient. Got my test results this past week. Everything's looking good, no STDs (well, yeah), hepatitis (that worried me because I did have a transfusion when I was 15), or cystic fibrosis (my SO's been tested before as well, also negative, yay!), glucose tolerance was perfect. Found out for sure that we have the same blood type. Always knew we were both + at least, so I had no fear there anyway. My b.p. has been reading a bit low, but not dangerously so. At least there's nothing to categorize this as a high risk pregnancy...which is great since I'm trying to work on getting a home birth.

I made it! I officially entered the third trimester this week. It's so exciting! My little boy loves to dance whenever music is playing, and he always kicks when he hears my husband's voice. *sigh* Life is good right now.
I have a question, though. How late in your pregnancy did you feel comfortable travelling?
I'm planning to travel from New York to Virginia by train for a baby shower and to visit with my brother (finally home from Iraq!) when I'll be right at the end of my seventh month. My MIL wants me to fly down to Miami at the end of May or the beginning of June for another shower. I'll be about six weeks from my due date at that point. I'm a little nervous about committing to that and will ask my doctor about it at my appointment on Monday, but I was curious about your experiences. Thanks!

Yay I am so glad you guys made it to the third trimester. it is hard... mostly the weight but also very exciting.
jellybean- I would have loved to have a home birth.... good luck
anneny I traveled up through my 8th month. I traveled by plane around 34 weeks. it was not very comfortable... in fact she actually dropped. I dont know if it was a coinscidence but i still felt safe. Bring snacks and a bunch of water and try to get up and walk even for a minute so you dont stay sitting too long.

Congrats, guys!!!
Yep. I traveled by plane in my 8th month, too! Was not fun for me, and my legs swelled soooo much! My legs also cramped soooo much that I could barely walk from the plane! I did bring a cane with me for other reasons, and I am glad I did. My baby also dropped quite a bit during my trip! My bra band became comfy again! She had previously been up under my ribs!

Thanks! I'm glad to hear you were able to travel safely. It'll be uncomfortable, but I can get an aisle seat and will fly at a time when delays are less likely. My MIL was sooooo excited that my doctor gave the okay!
Hope you and your little ones are all well!

My daughter is doing wonderful... thanks
By any chance do they have express jet there? I flew that airline while I was 8 months preggers and they have individual seat all to themselves so you dont have to sit next to any one... and on the other side there is only 2 seat instead of three. You might want to look into it. They also serve more then just your normal peanuts.... they serve crackers, sandwiches, bagels, carrots so it would be easier to make sure your eating healthy.

Unfortunately, there isn't express jet service over here, which is too bad 'cuz that sounds awesome! I'm going to ask for a bulkhead row and an aisle seat. That's about the best we can do. I'm basically counting on being really uncomfortable and needing to put my feet up as soon as we get there! If you prepare for misery, it usually doesn't turn out quite that bad, which makes it seem like it wasn't that bad at all. ;-)

anneny, who are you flying? i work for jetblue... in case you are flying them i can manipulate the system and if you tell them you are pregnant and you book over the phone, they can assign you a seat and make a document in the res that you need a specific seat. on many airlines they guarantee but DO NOT guarantee you a specific seat unless you state a handicap.

Did your husband fly with you? My daughter kicked like crazy the whole time we were in the air. I had internal brusing for a at least a week afterward. Well that is what my Dr. told me.

When I was pregnant, yes. A couple weeks ago when I flew with her 1/2-way across the country, NO! It was very tiring, too! Babies get REALLY heavy when they're asleep and you have to hold them for 3.5 hours!
