They must have a lot of equipment, too! That's wonderful! My city is almost 3x's as large as yours, so I guess that's why it takes about a month to get in unless it's an emergency here. None of the cities in New Mexico are that big to me. I've visited there, and your city is really pretty, though! I loved Sandia Peak, and there is a reallllly good Brazilian restaurant on Central Ave. (I think.) called Tocanos! YUM!

Yeah Tocanos is pretty good. The last time I was there was right after I found out a was pregnant and I could not eat much becasue I really eat meat now. It makes me sick.
The cities are smaller than some other states but it is still pretty big. I have lived many places and this place is huge to me. But nothing compared to Sacramento, which is where I am from!
Yeah they do have a lot of equipment. They have two sides to the clinc, one being the dr.s and the other being the sonographers. And a few specialists. I really like this place and researched the clinic for over a year. I was researching the OBGYN clinics in town when we first started TTC so for over a year. And this was by far the bes I found. Well except that first Dr.

Yay, another belly shot. I want to see! I will be adding one today!
I have a question. Is your stomach uncofortable? I have been having pain in my lower abdominals. My husband cant even roll over and put his arm on me at night. I am not sure if this discomfort is normal. I have also been spotting, and wondering if the two are associates.

Well, answers on why my tummy is so tiny and I haven't gained much weight--I'm having a TINY baby. I went for a Level II diagnostic today (bc of the lady doing such a crappy job at my last ultrasound). Well, the doctor came in to do some of the scan himself bc the sonographer found that my baby "has a small head." I think it should have been phrased that the baby is tiny all together, rather than focusing on the head. It's not microcephalic or anything (not a pinhead). The body is small, too, but it's proportional, so baby isn't a dwarf. My blood tests came back really nicely, so Down's isn't likely. The specialist said that I could have an amnio if I wanted one, but if it were something chromosomal visual that he'd most likely see signs--like only the head being small or only the arms. I asked him if I were to get an amnio and it did show something wrong if it is not already too late for an abortion as I am more than half way through the pregnancy. He said it would be difficult to get one and that I wouldn't be able to get one in my city but up in another city, if a person "looks" for clinics they can be found but abortions this late aren't routinely performed. That sounded like he was talking about underground abortion clinics! Which brings me to the ponderance--why should women be forced underground for abortions if their baby has a horrible deformity that is only visible after the point at which abortions are no longer legally performed. I don't believe in abortion as routine birth control, but I'm shocked that women still have to go to underground clinics! Anyway, the end result is that I have to have a Level II diagnostic scan every month for the rest of the pregnancy. Baby was moving around a lot and the brain seemed fine, so I think I'm just having a tiny baby. I do come from tiny people--my grandma was only 4ft. 7in., and my mother is not even 5ft, although she tells people she is LOL. I was born late, and I was barely over 6 pounds, so I could just make small babies! Fingers crossed, guys! Oh. and it is for SURE a girl!

Gosh. It's weighing on me the more the day goes on. Even though I think everything is probably okay and she is just small, it's weird hearing that your baby only scores 5% in relation to all the other babies at this stage! I love my little baby. I hope she's okay! She's probably going to be too small for the newborn diapers I have--they start at 7 pounds! I guess not having ultrasounds may be a good thing. Then you don't worry if something is odd bc you just don't know. Now, when people tell me, "Oh! You look great for 5 1/2 months!" It will pop into my head that it is bc my baby is only in the 5th percentile for size. Sorry to rant like this. It's just a weird feeling to have heard what I did today.

I hope that your baby will be okay. I knew someone once whose baby wasn't growing so they made her start having weekly ultrasounds, and then when the baby was born she was big! The doctors suspected the baby might have Down's Syndrome, but she refused to have an amnio because she didn't want to risk miscarriage. She was fully prepared to deal with anything that might be wrong. The baby was actually quite healthy. So your baby might catch up, maybe she's just getting off to a slow start. She'll probably end up being a 10-pounder when she comes out!

Thanks, erzulie. I think she's fine, just small. I guess only time will tell, though. With every kick and movement I feel, it makes me love her even more!

And now the report from my cardiology appointment today (I swear! I have seen sooo many doctors today!). Well, my blood pressure must have been normal at my last OBGYN bc I was so pissed about that crappy ultrasound that tech did. Every time I've taken it at home since, it has been low as well, hence my lingering dizziness! The cardiologist took my blood pressure with me in different positions today, and they ranged from low to really low. SO, I'm still dizzy for a reason! He told me to drive at my discression. I guess I'll keep on bc I've been having luck with my current plan of leaving early, taking the back roads, and then going to my friend's house to rest up and until traffic becomes less. The cardiologist wants me to have a tilt-table test after I have the baby, and I have an ultrasound of my heart next week. I am inundated w/ doc. appts!

Oh I am so sorry to hear about everything you are going through. At my ten week ultrasound they told be the baby was growing slow, the gestational age was younger then the pregnancy. I was also told that through out the pregnancy things could change and the baby could eventually catch up. I have not had my diagostic yet but am hoping that between the Us and the AFP screenign i took the beginning of this week things look better.
I know woman who have had children born as little as 4 pounds and the babies are very healthy. i know it is hard to focus on anything else when you care so much about the baby growing inside you but you also don't want to allow yourself to get too stressed out.

I felt like a weird little tadpole thing around 13-14 weeks. It just kept getting stronger until now, when I can feel kicks and "tap dancing." They say you can't feel it that early like I did, but I didn't have gas, so I know it wasn't that.

But I didn't start feeling kicks until about 17 weeks or so.
