These were posted in another thread. Wasn't sure where this post would belong, so I thought I would start out in the general forum... About 3 weeks or so ago I started hurting something evil, just all of a sudden. I laid on the couch on my back with my legs balled up and cried and I very rarely cry with pain. Well, being 34 yrs old I can pretty much tell when I feel like I'm about to start bleeding and I got that feeling so I went to the bathroom. I did indeed start bleeding then I felt something coming out (TMI, I know) and my first thought was, "OMG, this is the grandaddy of all clots!" Well, I heard it hit the toilet (again TMI, sorry) and it didn't sound like a clot and when I looked, it was a rather large chunk of flesh colored tissue, like 3in x 1in. Has anyone else ever done this? It truly scared me half to death so I called my dr. and she didn't seem at all concerned. I haven't done this since then and I hope I don't. Oh my word!! That must have been scary for you!!! I have had some pretty big and scary clots before but nothing like that!! I'm sorry I cant suggest anything. Maybe it was just the mother of all clots?!!! I'm sorry I cant help!! ((((hugs))) Was it grey in color? A few months back I passed a clot about the size of my thumb and grey. I asked my dr about it yesterday, and he asked if it was shaped like the inside of my uterus. Thinking about it, I realized yes, yes it was. Basically, even though the clot looks scary its simply just the actual lining of your uterus that did not have time to break down, which correct me if I am wrong, is almsot every clot? But, don't worry! I had thought I had a miscarriage, but this dr cleared it up and said I didn't, yay!! If you have not shed the uterine lining - that can induce the thicker lining to when you have a period after prolonged suppression you'll more likely have those strange tissue like appearance clots if the dr is not too concerned that is a good sign My clot looked like a fetus...eerily like a fetus. My dr where I used to live did not answer my questions properly, no did he perform the US that I asked him, too. This dr, answered every question I had - and said that if I requested an US, he would have done it...just to double check. What if I had miscarried and it was incomplete, or if the clot had been something else? It didn't look ANYTHING like a normal tissue clot. Clots are scary - I'm always checking them out if I pass one for anything that might look abnormal. Besides, my cervix and uterus hate me for the 12 hours prior to passing the dam things!

No, this was definitely not a clot...unfortunately, LOL! Seriously, it was flesh-colored and I seriously thought I'd had a miscarriage at first even though DH had a vasectomy 4 yrs. ago. I "fished" it out of the toilet with an OLD slotted spoon and examined it closely i.e. poked, prodded, etc. It was kind of tough and spongy and made me think of a piece of grissly meat. Anyway, I saw a new dr. today and he was more concerned with my problem as a whole and really didn't explain and to be honest, I was just so happy that I was with a dr. that aggressively wants to help me that I didn't think too much about that one episode.
Thanks for the replies! I just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else. I appreciate you all for your support!!

I've actually had something like that happen urethrally (Is that a word? LOL). I had gotten over a bladder infection, and this huge fleshy thing came out while I was peeing. I had to examine it, too. It was the weirdest thing!!!!! I wanted to take it to the doctor's office w/ me, but they todl me not to. LOL SOrr you had to go through that! Hope it doesn't start becoming a regular thing!

LOL. Yah. I was pretty freaked out by it. I told several different doctors and a urologist about it, and they all said it sounded like a big ball of infection!

LOL! Sorry, cass! If you want to be cheered up, I have a thread about how I had a "blood clot baby!" I was 12 and a virgin, but I had late periods. My sister told me that I had to be pregnant for my period to be late (She was teasing, but I didn't know!) I thought I got pregnant from the bathtub!!! I also thought I had a miscarriage bc I had a HUGE blood clot that actually looked to my 12-year-old mind like a fetus! I even buried it in the yard in a jewelry box! Check out the thread! cjlevett.proboards33.com/index.cgi?board=fun&action=display&thread=1140140853

Older post I know. Just wanted to chime in. I have read and heard from my docs that women who have endo shouldn't use tampons. Something about plugging things up isn't as effective as letting them flow naturally to get rid of everything?? I typically use pads anyway, but I find it frustrating that the manufacturers keep changing them, and then I end up buying ones and realizing I don't like them, and end up getting stuck with a whole package. I get clots. not nearly as bad as some of you though. yuck. sorry to hear that. My periods are kind of weird though. I don't know it if is because I am on continuous bcps or not. but they have been longer and longer lately. 10-14 days. They start out very dark brown and crumbly almost, sometimes there is an odor sometimes not. Then about 3-4 days into it I start bleeding "normally" for a period. Then it gets pretty heavy the following day or so and lasts for another 3-4 days. Then it spots again until it is over. These would be the days I curse being a woman.

^Would it piss you off to know you're not having a real period to begin with? On the pill, it's either withdrawal or breakthrough bleed. And having that long of a bleed while on the pill is usually due to low estrogen. I think you mentioned that you're on the generic of Alesse. That has the lowest estrogen of all of them. I had relatively the same thing while on Alesse.

good to know. I have an appointment friday for my yearly. I think he and I will be discussing whether I will stay on the pill or not. I have been on one since I was 15. It worked for my sister and if I can get a diet down where I can help all the issues and still be comfortable, that is my hope at least. We'll see. He really wants me to go on lupron. I guess my guy and I will have to sit down and have a little chat about all of this. He's been pretty great since learning so much from the doc at my last lap.

A few of us, including myself, have actually had a great reduction in pain (even with sex) since quitting the pill. Good luck w/ the talk!

I always have multiple clots, but they're usually more stringy than clumpy (if that makes sense), and they usually follow severe cramping. It makes sense that they would be related to problems ovulation, but in one and a half years of charting, I've always had pretty normal ovulation patterns, except for the six weeks I was on the pill as hormone therapy.

Pill Update: Well the appointment went well with the doc on friday. He switched my pill to ortho cept? - anyone been on that one?? He didn't think it would be fun to have a 2 week period either- Thanks. So I have my period again now- yea! And then I'll start the new pill and we'll see how that one goes. If its the same, we'll either change the pill again or I'll go off of it. we're not ready to have kids yet so I don't want to chance anything just yet. I'd love to have a baby someday but just not quite yet.
