As far as I know I don't have PCOS...i have never been diagnosed with it...but until my recent flurry of pain and excessive and debilitating endo-appearing symptomotology i havent really been looked at too carefully by any doctors for anything...although the transvaginal ultrasound i had 3+ weeks ago that sent me into immobilizing pain for a week showed nothing but a small cyst on my right side so am guessing if i had PCOS that it would have shown massive cystic growths in/on ovaries ...but maybe i have it wrong...tis quite possible ...i am on a sharp and sudden learning curve with endo and all its interwoven ailments

well ouchy...turns out i do in fact have pcos...or so was the assessment today when the dr (after massive pain and sudden bleeding yesterday left me wondering if i had a cyst rupture)...did a transvaginal ultrasound and found 13+ folicals/cysts on my left ovary and a medium/large (altho think it is only 3+cm) chocolate cyst on my right ovary....so look at that...i had been wondering ever since you mentioned your 3 cm cyst and pcos...guess i have my answer....more to add to the pot but making more and more sense...now for my lap...hopefully sooon!

are you sure you have PCOS and not jsut poly cystic ovaries?
i have poly cystic ovaries but not hte syndrome apparently? this was determined by an internal u/s before my op last year due to 30+ cysts on both ovaries.

A good question...yesterday was the first time anyone had mentioned the polycystic ovaries to me although i have the history of ovarian cysts and a couple of ruptured ones--ouch!-i was looking over the other symptoms ...i dont think i have any of the extra testosterone external specific issues...i do have high cholesterol...i can get badly broken out and although not technically dandruff i have psoriasis (not sure how/if that links in)...my extra weight is all in my waist area (looking more and more ridiculous over the years comparative to my chicken arms and legs )....pelvic pain (of course), ovarian cysts, and irratic bleeding, even in the last 10+ years ive been on the pill (although ive always been a heavy bleeder)...so not sure what that means...cause so much of that seems to overlap with corralaries to endometriosis...who knows i keep trying to put pieces of this rapidly complicating puzzle together at a speedy pace and continue to feel one step behind my body...to think only two months ago i was still under the belief that "this is just my body, its just a little more painful than other peoples but im sure its normal...just keep ignoring it..."

I have auto immune problems for sure. It seems like my immune system doesn't know what to do sometimes. I have allergies, IBS symptoms, Interstitial Cystitis, fibroids, endo, ovarian cysts, vulva pain, during a flare up I have low energy. I don't know if these are auto immune but anxiety and depression as well.

Wow Reading this has made me realise that i haven't just always been the 'unlucky' one who gets sick all the time, it probably is all linked. Its amazing. Since my teens i've been anemic on and off, and always get colds, flus, sinus infection, viruses, infections, etc...that last for weeks on end or i get them back to back. I started a new job a couple of months ago and the flu has been going around our work place, so far i've had it 3 times and just started again yesterday.
Also i have endo, IBS, reflux, depression, possibly carpal tunnel syndrome, and most of the time have that tired, exhasuted, blah feeling. So good to know i'm not the only one!
Someone (sorry cant remember who) mentioned getting sick at the same time as when you've got your period, and thinking back this seems to be the case for me. Not every month, but if i do get sick it tends to be just as my period is starting. Weird.

Me too, I seem to have a weak immune system. Not good. I've been seeing a naturopath, and apparently those of us with run down immunity should be taking Zinc, vitamin C, vitamin D, ginseng, and eating shiitaki mushrooms and garlic for immune system support. I'm giving it a go so we'll see what happens..

I have always had allergies to dust and I have hayfever, and I'm allergic to cats. I have mild asthma that is controlled with 2 different inhalers used in the AM & PM. I RARELY get the tight feeling or wheezing anymore - only when I'm near fresh cut grass, any kind of smoke, or a cat I'm not used to at someone else's house - I then use a puff or 2 of a fast acting inhaler and I'm fine. I have also had issues with insomnia for 15+ years, but take OTC meds every night because without enough sleep i am NOT ok. (dr. 's are glad OTC's still work for me, they would rather I be on those than a prescription strength sleep aid)
I'm also allergic to latex condoms and my mouth feels funny when I blow up balloons, but I don't have any issues wearing latex gloves.
I'm also allergic to all melon - my throat swells and my lips and mouth feel funny/tingly. *Sometimes* bananas & strawberries do this to me too. Also pecans and walnuts make my mouth & throat feel this way, unless they're baked in something...especially walnuts!
Anyhow....I also found out yesterday that my TSH level was high and my RE put on Levothyroxin - 25mcg per day to start off with, and I'll have my levels rechecked in 6 weeks to see if it's helping or if my dose needs to be increased. I had 19 tubes of blood drawn yesterday to check for everything under the sun that could be causing my infertility and RPL (recurrent pregnancy loss) aside from the endo.....but I won't have ALL the results back for at least a week or so. I also got my prolactin level back yesterday - that one was fine though - it was 13. It'll be interesting to find out how the other tests all turn out!!
