My mother-in-law got me hooked on German knives! NOT the kind in the infomercials here in the U.S....REAL ones! My favorite brands are Victorinox, Messermeister, Rostfrei Inox, and Zwilling. Anyone else obsessed with German knives? I have about 5 or 6 of them (a couple tomato knives, a couple paring knives, and another type of knife). I am constantly washing them and reusing them. I am thinking of donating to a thrift store all of my old cheapies since I never use them anymore. I found a German knife store on ebay, so I'll probably be buying some here and there. LOVE 'em!

Ohhhh....rawr! I LOVE German knives...I actually need some new ones, since I've had my Zwilling JA Henckels since I was 17, and they're rather worn.
Wow...someone else obsessed with German knives! Yay!

The Sheep's Foot Paring knives I got for $4.50 each!!! And shipping was only $1.00 ($1.50 combined for 2)! I think it was a great deal! The tomato knives were a little more expensive. I paid $6.50 each (but shipping was $10.50 --The gouger!!!!).

I just checked out Zwilling J.A. Henckels on ebay and just realized HOW expensive that brand is!!!! Good gravy! I didn't realize that I turned down so many great knives (new ones!) from my grandmother-in-law's estate that my mother-in-law offered me! I just knew that I loved German knives and didn't start checking the brands that much until I wanted to buy more! Crikey! Maybe I'll check thrift stores to see if any just happened to make their way there. I guess I could buy used ones and have them sharpened.

Yep, they ARE pricey! Check out restaurant supply stores...that's where my parents got me the ones I have. I have the "lower end" yellow handled 200 mm Chef's knife and bread knife, and used to have the red handled paring knife, that has since gotten lost. I've had them since I was 17 (10 years ago) and they're STILL going strong! The ones I have aren't even on the Zwilling website. LOL!
