I'm from So Cal, too--San Fernando Valley, specifically.
I've often wondered where people are from, but the profile doesn't seem to get more specific than state/country. Maybe that's for security reasons.
Oops, after seeing Lynette's post below, I realized that I didn't know what I was talking about. So I went to my profile to try to change it. Turns out you can modify your profile to be more specific about your location, if you choose. . . But it looks like many of us have chosen to be less specific.

I know what you mean louise! I'm from Guildford, England. Doesn't sound quite as exotic does it! May be it's because we know all it does here is rain (last few weeks as an exception)

I am from the truly exotic state of Illinois in the US. By exotic I mean there are a lot of cornfields (although I live in a college town, not in the cornfields).

louise and meldart,
"Boring" is relative! Many people flock to Los Angeles to vacation. While it's definitely not a boring place to be . . . I can't wait to get out of here. But I sure would looove to take a trip to England!

That's a good point meka. I've never been to Los Angeles or England, but I have no desire to visit LA. I would, however, like to go to England. England has all of those beautiful ancient things you can visit, like Stonehenge. What's in LA except for a bunch of anorexic girls and palm trees? (No offense to LA)
You know what I really want to do in England? I want to go to a fish and chips shop. I bet you Brits are over there taking those for granted!
