Hi Christie,
Just read your last post and thought I would answer as I had Ovarian Cancer. I think it is odd that they asked you that because endo/cancer i asume can look alike. For me they had to remove it and do the tests that when they discovered it was ovarian cancer. Was it your doctor or the ultra sound guy that said that because I don't think that the person who does the ultra sound is even alowed to tell you that becasue aviously that can send you into a panic. If you want to ask me questions ask away!

My transvaginal ultrasound was actually not that bad, surprisingly, because all of my pelvic exams up to that point had been torture. I think it is because the ultrasound wand is more blunt that a speculum (that clamp thing that pulls your vagina apart) or a finger that a gynecologist uses during an exam, and therefore didn't hurt as badly, since it wasn't poking me directly. I was scared of the size of the wand--basically, it looks like a huge dildo!!! But the ultrasound tech was gentle and understood I was nervous. Plus, my being able to see my ultrasound on the screen was really cool. My husband was also allowed to be at my side during the procedure.

No results yet. This is killing me. Literally. If my stomach isn't hurting, my back is. Aah, I'm not sure how people would be able to cope with this for an extended period of time.

Man.. I'm so pissed. I called my doctor's office, and he's in another office today, but his office lady answered the phone. She was extremely rude to me. I asked if my results were in, she told me no and that it would probably take a week. I told her they said they would probably be back this afternoon. She said "well if they're not ready, they aren't going to send them to us." Okay, understandable. So she says "if they send them then he'll be back in this office on Wednesday afternoon and he'll review them and call or send a card." A card?! So I told her, well is there anyway you can just let him know I'm in pain, and I want the results as soon as convienent. She told me "well I think he already knows your in pain." She just completely blew me off. I hate that.. it really pissed me off. Like it doesn't matter in any way how I feel. I'm seriously on the verge of crying.

That B!!!! I hate that she treated you like that! How uncaring and jaded!!! She obviously doesn't have feminine problems!!! But I'll hope for a BIG yeast infection for her to make her day go by more happily I totally understand your frustration! Reminds me a LOT of my gynecologist's office staff who appear sometimes to be the most inept, uncaring people!!! They ALWAYS get stuff wrong, and no matter what it is, the message will casually be forgotten to get passed along to either me or to the doc. When I call to "remind" them, it's as if it was no big deal that I got brushed under the table and went without my prescription being called in, without being called to let me know that my appointment had been canceled, ANYTHING! Grrrr!

Hi Christie, Sorry for all the drama! It's like, your body is already being physically tortured, and now you have to go through this B.S. mental torture of THE WAIT. I hope your results come in soon. I had an ultrasound a couple of months ago-transvaginal and over the belly (don't know the technical name). Because I was already in pain, and because my bladder (for the over-the-belly portion) had to be completely full, it was excruciatingly painful. But I have had other ultrasounds while I was not already in pain on that particular day, and so the ultrasound didn't hurt. I was lucky on one occasion to have my ultrasound scheduled for two hours before my appointment with the gynecologist. Whereas I would have had to wait a week or more to get the results, by the time I sat down in my gynecologist's office, she was able to hop right on the computer and tell me what the results were that very day. My last two ultrasounds were performed by my gynecologists, and I was able to see and discuss what they saw right then and there. One of them even gave me a printout of the picture from the ultrasound machine. It's the same thing pregnant women get of their fetus.

Well I just got the results of my ultrasound, no cancer.. yay!!!! He said my ultrasound looking completely normal, no cysts, normal ovaries.. all that. I was like "great! But what the heck is wrong with me. I hurt in my stomach, my back, and I've had a 2 week period so far..." So I asked if it's possible I do have endometriosis. He wants to do a laproscopy to see. I mean it sounds as if I have the symptoms, but what doesn't make sense to me is it's so suddenly so painful. At 25, I suddenly develop bad pains. Is that normal with endo? I guess I've had previous symptoms.. but I don't know....
I guess I'll find out on Monday or Tuesday when exactly my surgery will be.

Well, it happens that way sometimes. It got a lot worse for me really fast, although I always had really bad cramps. Sometimes people don't have symptoms for a while even when they have a disease. Ouchy posted a study recently that said some women have a ton of nerve endings in their pelvises, whuile others don't have so many. That at least partly explains why the amount of endoemtriosis doesn't always have anything to do with the amount of pain. For a woman with lots of nerve endings, a small amoutn of endometriosis can cause a bunch of pain jsut because it's almost bound to be right on some nerves. For a woman with not-so-many nerve endings, she could potentially have a lot of endometriosis without having much pain if it happens not to be on her nerves. Maybe you fall into the latter category. Maybe your disease has gotten worse and is now on some nerves, so it has suddenly started causing you lots of pain.
