Don't worry Nikki you will be fine.
After your surgery you will be bed bound for a week, probably not even. When I say bed bound, that was sort of imposible for me as I am a go go never stop person so I was up and down. It was hard to get up but I did, I was even doing dishes 4 days later. One thing was that my back hurt for the first few days I was home i think because of the way they had me on the table I guess. Everyone gave me trouble cause I couldn't sit still!
It didn't take me too long to heal from the first one, I waas very slowly back at the gym a month and a half later. I would go on the tredmill and you know how you can test your heart rate by squeezing that bar, well it told me that I was relaxing and let me tell it didn't feel like I was relaxing, I wanted to slap it!
After the second week you can very slowly go back to your regular things just no heavy lifting and everything will be slower until you get your stamina back. You just need to have patience. Don't over exert yourself or you will set yourself back. Your body will let you know what you can do. Just so you know it's only the worst the first 3-4 days but remember they have you on so many painkillers. for the first day and a half they had me on the morphene that I could give myself. I didn't feel much, i just slept alot!
(this part is a modify if you have already read this) I also slept on the couch for about 4 weeks because I couldn't lay flat on my back, I sort of proped my self up with the pillows. My husband slept on the couch beside me in case i needed anything, he's such a sweet heart, mind you if I needed something he hates to be woken up so I never did!
When your back at home let us know how everything went!
Good Luck Girl! And Don't worry you will be fine!
