With the disesase you go through stages of feeling worthless having low self asteem , this is part of the disease, dont worry! talk to someone, I was lucky i had support from my work collegues. Not sure if this is even an issue for you any more, but, I had the same problem for years... Finally I agreed on a temporary basis to try the antidepressant Wellbutrin XL and a b-complex vitamin. I was very worried to try it, but after 2 months it has really honestly helped. I tried the herbal remedies, but some just increased the symptoms. If u ever need an ear, feel free to contact me

Drink 8 glasses of water a day, get 8 hours of sleep, go to see a naturopathic doctor or accupunturist (you have to go at least 2-3 times a month for six months for good results, you should see results in about 3 months). Do not get surgery, this is not a cure. The endo can come back and usually does. Try to change your diet by eating only organic food since your body is producing too many hormones and hormones and contained in the foods we eat, this makes your body go crazy and produces endo, cysts, fibroids, etc. Go to a nutritionist if you are not sure what to eat. Try to stop eating a lot of sugar, fast foods, beef, pork. Try to eat a lot of fish (at least twice a week - the omega3 fatty acids in fish are really good for you), and eat lots of fruits and veggies, at least 3 servings a day and take a multivitamin. Don't get discouraged, I feel the same way you do. I tried the regular doctors but gave up on them, I have done extensive research and totally changed by diet and my life. I have been doing accupunture for 3 months and surprisingly it is helping, I am not in as much pain as I was. Hopefully in 3 more months I will be cured. Pray and stay positive.

Please try positive thinking. The mind is a powerful tool. Just think of things like "I will overcome this, I will heal" and repeat these messages whenever you get down. It really does work. Good Luck!

I had a bout of depression about 3 years ago. The doctor prescribed Seraphim (sp?) but I was having side effects. Since the medication is supposed to replace the seratonin in the body, I went to the healthfood store and got HTP5. That really helped. Since I don't like to have to take any type of pill everyday, be it prescribed or "natural", I don't take it continuously, just when I start to feel down.
That might help a bit.

Hello FrannieLand. I have been reading up on HTP5 also. I refuse to take perscription medication also, I seen how my mother was dependent on them. What brand are you taking? Right now I am taking high potency multi vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids and St. Johns wort. They are not helping. Well maybe slightly. I was thinking of going to HTP5. I read u cannot take HTP5 with st. johns wort or other natural depression supplements as it will react. I just feel numb all the time, cant concentrate, and could sleep all day if it werent for my toddler waking me up. Tired of feeling tired!!!! So anyway, just want to know what brand and type your taking, if they sell it up here in Canada!! In the mean time I am trying desperatley to stay positive, for the sake of my son. Wishes of clear and positve thinking to you all!! ;D

I've read that DL-Phenylalanine is also good for depression as well as pain for some women. It's also an appetite suppresant. You can find out more info on it in Dian Shepperson Mills' book on endo. Sorry, can't remember the title right now.

I feel for all of you... I am really having a hard time dealing with my endo and the effects of lupron depot. It's made me crazy and depressed and i'm STILL having my period with cramping. My options for treatment are really limited because I had a pulmonary embolism last year from the pill and now can't have any kind of hormones. I still have six weeks before the lupron is out of my system. In the meantime, I feel like my job is in jeopardy becauses I"m not even the same person. I got married in June and I'm not even the same person my poor hubby married- I'm a crazy, emotional mess! I'm starting acupuncture next week and sure hope it helps. It's encouraging to read some of the posts about how it's helped a lot of people. If anyone has any advice please email me at amybee74@hotmail.com

Amyb, you have made the first important step. You realize how the lupron is helping you. I went through the same thing. I was a whole different person. I knew it and didn't like it. My husband knew it was from the medication and was supportive. People easily forget what is going on with your body, because they can't see physically see the disease. I know it is extremely hard. There were times I wanted to give up. Is your boss easy enough to talk to? I'm sure your hubby will be supportive and try to help in any way possible. It helps having somebody you can talk to. Have a girls' night and rent a chick flick. An occassional good cry with the girlfriends helped me on different occassions. Good luck. I'm here if you need somebody to talk to. Sorry to go on and on. Question, has anyone any experience taking antidepressants while using progesterone cream? Is it safe? I just had surgery, and taking 40mg of prozac(which has been very helpful for me), and do not want to do the lupron depot, but would rather use the cream as it helped me immensely up until my surgery. If anyone has experience and could elaborate I would very much appreciate it.

Hi, Andie. I am 26 years old, and while I have not had a hysterectomy, I have contemplated it. It has to be so emotional what you are going through right now, I can only imagine. Would you be able to talk to your doctor about an alternative to Xanax? Also, are you currently on HRT? I really hope the best for you. One of the women on the board, Lynette, is also our age, and she just had a hysterectomy several months back. Maybe she will have some advice for you. Best wishes. ~Ouchy

I am on the hormonal roller coaster now. I had my hysterectomy in January. There are days when I just want to give up. I talked to my doctor today and they are testing my hormone levels. I am tired all the time, but also working alot, money is tight (non-existent) for bills since time off for surgery, and just feel like I am not as on top of things as I should be. I am pain free, though. Andie, I would talk to your doctor and see about having your hormone levels checked. I don't think that Xanax will help, that is just my opinion. I too, have been on the anti-depressants and didn't feel any difference on or off them. If you have any questions or need somebody to talk to, you can email me at clintlynette@msn.com. Lynette

Thank you all for your replies and support....It is really nice to know that there are others who know what it is like to go through all this hell......I stopped taking the meds for anxiety.....All they did was make me sleep....Right now I am in the process of looking for a job so that is keeping me busy....Other than that I am feeling better emotionally....I still have my moments but they are fewer than about 3 weeks ago....Again thank you all for your support.......Andie
