If you are already using fertilityfriend, you can also use the ff website to compare your charts to other charts there based on all the above stuff. I think they've been collecting charts since 1997 or something.

Just curious, how low do your temps get? Mine drop down into the low 97s and I feel like that's weird. I'm always freezing cold and miserable then I see that my BBTs are so low. Anyone else's temps drop that low?

Yes, mine can get really low, I have been as low as high 95's low 96's. I always feel cold too. I find I'll feel really hot, take my temp and it's really low. Strange. My temping chart this month is all over the place, really crazy!

I've noticed that after ovulation, when my temps are elevated, I don't feel so cold and miserable. I wonder why they get so low. It sucks! I'd be interested to see how my BBTs change during the summer.

Mine are typically in the upper 96 range... A high post-ovulation temp for me would be 97.4... Thyroid is typically to blame for feeling cold & for low temps, though hormones can play a part. Progesterone is what causes the temp spike! Anyway, what's interesting for me is watching my temps on thyroid meds. They are starting to creep up a bit!

Oh cool! That is interesting! I guess I shouldn't complain about having temps in the low 97s. lol My highest spike post ovulation is always 98.6.

Check out this article - it talks about lower temps and thyroid issues. I'm not saying you have thyroid issues, but just food for thought: www.womensinternational.com/thyroid.html But if you're always cold, might be something to look into. I've been freezing cold my entire life and am only FINALLY getting some answers as to why! So far for me this month, my pre-ovulation temps are 97.3-97.5 - HUGE improvement for me! I love temping - I can see all sorts of stuff like this!!

I have a question about temping. I take my temp at 4:10am when my alarm goes off. Lately I have been waking up around 3:30am weekdays/weekends don't matter ( annoying! ) and I toss and turn and just have a hard time falling back asleep - I wonder if that could be messing with my actual correct temp and if I should take it when I wake up the first time even though this might not be my "normal" time to temp. Does anyone know if this makes a difference or not? I have to say, this is my 1st month temping/watching for cervical mucus changes and I'm learning alot about my body! I always noticed that the mucus changed but this is neat to note it on the chart so I can watch next month for regular patterns. I still feel like I'm not "getting it" as far as understanding the chart but the program I'm using ( fertility friend ) gave me the VIP membership free for this month so it gives you some extra info that you wouldn't normally receive. I might pay for this for the next few months just until I get the hang of things!

hey Nicole, If I wake up before my alarm I go ahead and temp right then, then I note on my chart. My ND told me if I was having trouble always temping at the same time to switch over to temping 3 times a day and writing down the average. I just don't have the focus to do this all day so what I do is just make a note on the chart that I woke early and if the temp is way different than normal, I cross it out. Like this morning my alarm was set for 6:45 but I woke up at 5:45 so I temped right away. It was exactly 98 degrees which is .2 degrees higher than yesterday so I noted the time I woke up was different....

Hey Lisa! Thanks, yeah, I think I'll temp when I wake up just to get a more accurate reading if it's before my normal wake up time.

I don't know how it would mess with your temps but for me, if I wake up before my alarm I'll temp then, and then I'll temp again at my normal time. That way I get both of them. Usually they are the same but it's nice to be able to check both just to clear up any confusion.
Today I had a fever again so now my temps are all screwed up. Damn tumor! Making me fevery!
But I agree Nicole, I LOVE temping because it is teaching me so much about my body. I find it so exciting at how amazing our bodies are.

Ok, gals, I pulled out TCOYF. Per the temping bible, you should try to take your temp about the same time every day, give or take an hour. If you vary at all from your normal time, just make note of it. Temperatures tend to creep up a bit the later you take them.
If you have any odd temps here or there that just don't fit in due to illness, sleeping in, etc., just ignore that odd one. You're looking for the overall pattern, so there may be a few odd ones here or there. I tend to temp at the same time every day during the week, but on the weekends I'll temp whenever I get up. I find that if I had just one drink the night before, my temp the next day is way higher, no matter what time! In time, you'll probably be able to pinpoint a few things that make your temps a bit off.
But I agree, it's so cool to be able to learn and track what your body is doing!! I compare it to bringing your car to a mechanic: they hook it up to a diagnostic computer and give a read-out of what's going on. That's what we're doing each day by temping!
