feel like period is coming... but never does. im not sure what dpo i am as kitten stole my thermo and i really wasnt keep track. boobs are very very sore... but im not sick to my tummy. was in a awful mood yesterday too, denna. wanted to cry over the smllest thing...and was very irritable! belly is bloated... but none of this is far from what i experience with my period coming. however, i do have to say that i am having less pain than normal for this time of the month... assuming im roughly 7-10dpo. if no period by next saturday i'll be peeing on a stick! but, i assume i;ll be seeingg aunty flo by then

I'm not ttc, but I'm in! Figure now's a good time to figure out my body and see how pain is related to my cycle. Going off BC this Wednesday.

Ok, so I've been temping for about 3 weeks now, and it's been 2 weeks since Mirena has been out (I know, I'm a dork, I wanted to start temping asap to get in the habit of it even though I knew it was kind of pointless on BC!)
Is it dorky that I woke up this morning and the first thing I thought was 'Hmm, I BET my temp rises today?' Turns out it didn't, and I was a little dissapointed! I made that assumption because my CM has been a bit different and my pain has been a bit different, too... Oh, but I've been really exhausted the last few days, so perhaps I'll be getting my period soon. Who knows, but it's kind of fun to be able to make a more educated guess now! I know it'll take some time for my body to get back to normal after BC, but still...

Well, first month post-mirena and I can say with certainty that I didn't ovulate. Had a few higher temps this weekend, but blame it on traveling and booze, and it has since gone down and now I'm having an anovulatory bleed. It's heavy, it hurts, and it S U C K S. I've been spoiled on BC for so long! I'm sure it's my body's way of revolting for going off BC...
This is dorky, but I'm anxious to get my first documented ovulation, though, and wonder if it'll happen this month!

Hmm, I doubt it. I've noticed my temp spikes if I've had more than a drink or two, or if I take my temp later than normal, both of which happened when I saw the 2 day spike. I'm hoping that my body will kind of 'reset' itself now and I can let the dorkiness begin!

So I talked to my sister this weekend - she's charted for 2 cycles and has yet to see a shift - said her temp fluctuates between .3 of a degree and that's it, that she doesn't sustain a higher temp. I'm on day 21 of my second charting cycle and I have yet to see something, either, and I feel like I might get my period soon, which would mean it'd be another short cycle... Grr! Am I just being impatient? I mean, I've only been off BC for almost 2 months. But I'm starting to wonder if it's hereditary to have no thermal shift in my family?

Agreed, especially when you were on something like the Mirena that slowly releases hormones directly into your uterine lining. It will take longer for your body to completely rid itself of the endongenous hormone as well as balance itself again.

Grr, can you tell I'm impatient?
It's funny - I just talked to my sis about PCOS. Neither of us have ever considered it before, but her cycles have been very odd lenghts, she doesn't think she's ovulating recently, and she's been off BC for almost a year without getting knocked up. Some initial blood work came back fine so it's not her thyroid. Sounds like she'll get some more tests in a month or so. I told her to look into PCOS, though... I've half-wondered about it for me myself, but at the moment I'm all doctored out and don't have the energy to dig deeper....

Sometimes low thyroid will not show up on traditional thyroid T3-T4 tests.
Apparently low basal body temps consistently below 98 degrees, signals under active thyroid.
I really admire you ladies who remember to take your temps every morning. I fr@# completley forget each morning. My morning starts with me getting up, still groggy, head to the bathroom, finish all the morning rotuine and go down for a coffee to wake up. By then it is usually too late. It is indeed unfortunate for me cos I really need to see if I ovulate or not and also check my temp. The two times I did remember to check it was below 98.
