Ouchy, in response to your question: As well as endometriosis, I was found to have multiple ovarian cysts (not PCOS, apparently). They were removed, but it seems my body has a tendency to form them and I also have a family history of ovarian cancer (grandmother who had ovarian cysts when she was younger and then developed ovarian cancer later in life).
Dr John Lee recommended using natural progesterone from day 5 to day 26 of the cycle to allow ovarian cysts to heal, so I guess with having both endo and cysts, I'm just as well to use it from day 5, rather than from day 8/9 for endo alone. My doctor explained to me that it stops the proliferative phase from building up and keeps oestrogen at bay.

I've been charting my BBT for a year now. This is the first month when my chart has showed a "dud" cycle: it showed I ovulated at CD11, temps stayed high above coverline for 6 days and then dropped below it on days 18, 19, 20 and 21. Fertility Friends have removed the ovulation markings now. Has this happened to anyone else? Does it mean I really didn't ovulate or that I have a luteal phase defect?
Prior to this, my charts always showed ovulation and sustained BBT when I was using progesterone cream. I stopped using the cream this cycle to see how things are without it.

Ouchy,
No chance of a chemical pregnancy for me. I guess it must have been a blip. I'll give it one more cycle before thinking about trying the progesterone cream again...

hey ladies. i have a question -
the past two days i have been in terrible pain. im guessing its ovulation pain, but i know i cannot really go off of that. my temps have not risen (im cd 13... which is around the time i usually ovulate). just out of curiosity the past two days i have used a predictor kit... well this morning (and last night) the predictor kit said that i have already ovulated. i dont get it? all the signs (including cervix position and fluid) point to ovulation... pain... cd 13, etc - but i have yet to see a rise in temps. ive also been using a progesterone cream.
thoughts??

Hi Tess,
It could be that you have a LUF: luteinised unruptured follicle. Apparently they occur in as many as 79% of women who have Endometriosis. With LUF, there are all the signs of ovulation but the egg doesn't pop out. Might just be a one-off, so nothing to worry about at the moment. Frustrating, though.

That's what I always thought... but according to the directions on this box, I've already ovulated. I bought the cheap pack, though... lol maybe I need to go out and get a real one! Either way, over the day my boobs are sore, and I'm getting pangish like pains on my left side - all regular symptoms I get post ovulation. :\ Oh well. We'll see!!!

I'm now assuming that the Fertility Friends software got the ovulation day right but the coverline was wrong. My period arrived today, 12 days after it initially said I ovulated. I've manually overriden the chart and adjusted the coverline to 36.68 instead of its estimation of 36.71. Ovulation on day 11 then 12-day luteal phase sounds about right, albeit in a short 23 day cycle. This is much shorter than usual but things are clearly not right because I'm still a stone underweight since stopping Zoladex.

Just looking through ouchy's rant about her ovulation and thought I'd start a new thread with a little bit about ovulation tests. Obviously its up to you ladies but tony and I had been trying for quite some time to get preggers using ovulation kits and I was getting positive results and we were trying but nothing was happening ! THEN I read this book called 'Taking charge of your fertility' and it said not to use ovulation kits because they can detect a false LH surge (giving a positive result) before the real one, so i.e you think you're going to ovulate but dont! Anyway, I started using this different technique of feeling my cervix, and checking the fluid and bam pregnant that month !!! I think if you're using them to monitor your periods by all means carry on but if you are ttc don't trust them 100% if anyone wants more info on how to detect ovulation naturally I'll be more then glad to let you know! Using your tempreture is a good way of knowing if you've ovulated but because your temptreture raises AFTER you've ovulated it's not very good to use as a way of telling when you're going to ovulate. Although it does give you a good idea of what kind of cycle you have and where in your cycle you ovulate. It's not day 14 for every women. Anywhere, there you are ! I hope that can maybe help someone out there !! Don't let ovulation kits mislead you oh and if you want to save money dont buy clearblue they are one of the most expensive on the market, when I was using them I never spent more then 10 pounds (roughly 20 dollars) for 20 thats 50p (25c) each as appose to clear blue 22 pounds for one (44 dollars) !!

Hey girls -
So, I'm noticing something with my cycles and wanted to see if maybe anyone could shed some light. My luteal is shortening with every cycle - about a day each month. I've gone from around 15 days to down to about 12. The other interesting this is, I'm ovulating later. I went from ovulation at cd 11 to cd 14. Each month, as my ovulation occurs later, my luteal phase is shorter! Oh, my cycles are shortening, too - From 28/29 days to 25 this month (last month it was 26). And, of course... my period days are getting longer! LOL. 6 days this week... which makes sense to me. I used to be a good 7-8 days, so the longer I'm off all type of meds, the longer my bleeding may last.
ANy ideas??
