Hi Girls, I am new to temping, this is my first time doing it. I just had a lap in Feb and trying everything to get pg. My temp has been up for 9 days. On the 8th day it took a little dip 98.18 and then on the 9th day (today) it went up to 98.45. I think I read somewhere that when your temp dips a bit it means the egg is implanting. Is this true? AF is due Sat. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping my temp stays high. I don't have any pg symptoms. I've been crampy since 5dpo on and off which has been disappointing because I keep thinking AF is going to come. Any advice? Jill

Hi Ouchy. I'm trying to not get too excited. I've been disappointed month after month, I guess I am just trying to have some hope. Yesterday when it dipped I figured AF was going to show, but when it went back up I felt more hopeful. I've been crampy since 5dpo. Did you have any pg symptoms before you missed your period and by the way I'm so happy for you. It gives me sooooooo much hope when I hear about someone getting pregnant who has endo. I wish you a happy and healthy 9 mos. Jill

Does anyone have any advice for temping? I'm doing it this month for the first time and I'm keen to get any tips anyone has. I've had higher temps for the last 3 days than before, so maybe I've ovulated? I'm using the fertility friends site which is good, but it hasn't indicated I've ovulated yet. Maybe I'm just impatient. It is more important to temp after 3 hours unbroken sleep or at the same time? Sometimes I wake up earlier and take my temp and then wake up about an hour later and take it again, at my usual time, which should I use? Any help gratefully received!!

hi jill, hi scarlet..good that you have started temping- may be we can share chart from fertility friends. jill, the same thing happened to me and i have a beautiful chart which 'can result' in pg but AF came dpo10 ( brownish) and red dpo11..so as ouchy said, i might have low progesterone.
hmm, do not loose hope, wait till AF really come if not then congrats..
scarlet, take the temp the first thing after you woke up..i don't know about you but i woke up at 6.30am except weekend but i still wake up and take my temp and sleep back..
happy temping to you too..this is my 3rd time and i enjoy doing it..the good thing is i know when AF is coming and i don't waste hpt..

Well I tried temping for a few months and hated it. I like the over the counter ovulation predictors better, I feel they are more accurate and eaisier to deterimine than temping. I also feel watching your own cervical fluids through out the month is even more accurate than ovulation Predictors. If you know how to read your own cervical discharge properly you will have the best chances of having intercource when it is most important. I have said this before and I will continue to say it, stress influences whether or not you get pregnant. Temping for me was very stressful trying to take my temp. every morning at the same time, so I chose to stop doing it for stress reasons alone.
When I was temping my Dr. told me you really need to be percise as to when you are taking it. It really should be at the same time every morning and should be taken while still in bed before drinking anything.

;D ouchy, we are the one who wanted so much to become pregnant but it end up to you..he he. i think it's true what most people said, it will happened when you least wanted it to happen. actually this month i don't really want to be pregnant but since i've started the herbs, i'll just continue. going for a snorkelling trip end of the month and states month after...so i rather we fit to travel. i agree with ouchy, temping helps me in determining when exactly i ovulate, opk is good but for me it's too expensive. cervical mucus is good too but not all have the egg white mucus but still has gotten pregnant. ;D in short, i think whatever method we use, we must be comfortable with it. for me temping is interesting and i have no problem at all..

Thanks for all the advice everyone!!
FF is now showing I ovulated on day 15. I only had 1 day of egg-white cm on day 11 though and had a fall in temp after that and 2 day's rise before another fall and then rises since. I'm wondering if maybe I didn't ovulate after the egg-white cm instead of on day 15? Anyhow, I guess it doesn't matter a whole lot. We bd'd as much as we could (well, once a day) so we'll see.
I just got the TCOYF book so I'm going to start reading that. maybe that will clarify things.

Yes, the TCYOF book is good so far, although I haven't had a chance to read it all yet. i guess a lot of it I already knew either from this forum or from elsewhere on the web, probably having come from that book, but it was good to see it all in one place. I'm slightly concerned as my first ff chart showed I have a slightly short luteal phase (11 days). I guess I was counted incorrectlybefore as I thought my cycle would've been 27 days, but ff showed it up as 26. So I've been having 26 or 27 day cycles all along - not good for someone with endo!!! So I guess maybe I have low progesterone too Denna? How are you getting on? It's probably good you dont remember if you bd'd - less stressful than charting every move you make!!

Hello Peeps,
I'm charting temperatures (although not ttc) while on progesterone. This is my third cycle I'm charting. I live in Scotland (typically cold or mild) but we've been having a spell of hot weather (22-28 degrees celsius) over the past 4 or 5 days. I've noticed my basal body temperature has been higher than usual at this stage in my cycle compared to usual (this is CD8). I guess it could be the progesterone cream really getting into my system now, but it also seems likely that the hot weather is raising my BBT.
Does anyone else find that their BBT is higher during hot weather?

This is my third month of charting my BBT. (I'm not TTC right now). In the last two months on progesterone, I ovulated both times. This month I had eggwhite cervical mucus from days 10 to 15, and creamy/none on days 16 & 17. Today is day 18 and no dip or rise. It looked as though I was approaching ovulation, but I haven't had a temp. shift. I didn't realise it was possible to have an an anovulatory cycle with fertile eggwhite mucus.

Ooooooh,
Thanks Ouchy. Uncertainty is the hardest thing, I feel.
It may well be the nat. progest. from day 5 to day 26 which is working its way into my system. My pain levels have clearly decreased, so it's helping from that perspective. I'm going to keep charting for the full six months on this dose. Today I've just gone and bought a supposedly very reputable brand of basal thermometer (not that there's anything disreputable about my current one) at additional cost, so that I know that at least one part of the picture is a reliable gauge!

Yes, exactly. The plan was to use the two thermometers ;D until the end of this current cycle (to see whether there was any discrepancy between readings) and then switch to the new one in a new cycle!
I don't mind not ovulating for a while IF it means the disease is healing and or I have no more cysts forming, which in turn will protect my fertility in the long run, I hope. Dr John Lee's natural progesterone regimen from day 5 to day 26 is meant to give the ovaries a break so that any cysts won't have the chance to develop. If I just had endo on its own, then I'd be using it from day 8 or 9. Apparently this puts me in a pseudo-pregnant state. I guess I won't know unless I keep charting my BBT whether the progesterone is working well and suppressing ovulation in the next few cycles, too (and that this one hasn't just been my body not ovulating).
