Aww well I hope the break gives you some much-needed rejuvenation! Keep us updated after your lap! Chances are usually much higher after a lap to get pregnant so I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Good luck! I'm soo glad to hear that you're taking a bit of time to chill and enjoy life, I thik that can up your chances! I've heard so many stories about couple who can't conceive and then go of on holiday and relax and bam! Preggers. And J's right - after your lap, all cleaned out and hopefully chilled out...

Hey peachy, I think taking a break is often a great thing. While you are in for the lap, can you have them test your tubes to check for any blockages? Sometimes they can flush them out a bit and give you the green light that the way is clear when you are recovered and trying again. Good luck with the lap, and thanks for checking in!

Thanks girls Semi- That is a good idea to ask about my tubes. I will do that. Everything is set for my surgery, I think I will do a post about it.

Me and my boyfriend are also trying for a baby. This is only our second month of trying, but I have a weird feeling that we won't get lucky so quickly. I'm 27, but I've already had 2 laparoscopies due to endo. My gyn said that my right ovary is very small, but luckily my left ovary is still intact, so I hope it is working the way it should be! I stopped taking Visanne 2 months ago, so I want to get pregnant as quickly as possible, because I don't want cysts to come back. It is pretty stressful and I envy those who don't have these problems.

We're still trying ... This was our 3rd round and I'm eager to find out if we were successful. My period is due tomorrow. I've been having regular periods which come on 28th day, so I should be having normal ovulation. How long did you try before you got pregnant? I'm a bit nervous because my gyn said that it is crucial that I get pregnant fast, because my endo may come back and I already had 2 laparoscopies and each time that leaves some damage to the ovaries.

Are you temping or using an ovulation kit? I hope you're pregnant this round, but if not, consider temping! Having a 28 cycle doesn't necessarily mean you're ovulating on day 14 (is that what you mean by normal?) But again, fingers crossed this month!

Karen, thanks for your post. No, I'm not temping and I'm not using the ovulation kit. Yet. I hoped this wouldn't be necessary for me. And I know that ovulation can come from day 12 or 19, it depends on the woman I guess. I thought I would get pregnant the first month as I went to get checked on day 14 and my gyn (judging by the ultrasound) said I will be ovulating in 12-24 hours. I guess I am ovulating, but maybe there is some other problem. Anyway, we'll see how it goes

We are trying to conceive again after surgery in June this month it didn't happen. But for women without endo they say it can take up to a year to conceive (that seems so long to me, but a lot has to happen just right). I would try the temping, it's relatively easy if you wake up at roughly the same time once you get used to doing it. Since I have temped I found out my cycle is very consistent (ovulating on day 14 or 15), so I'm not bothering with ovulation kits any more. I'm sorry it hasn't been quicker for you. We are gong to give it another six months and then look into adoption if it hasn't happened.

semicolon, how long have you been trying alltogether? I've already had two laparoscopies because of the pain which was caused by a cyst on my right ovary each time. This ovary is now a bit smaller than it should be, so it is damaged, but thankfully my left one is just fine (or at least should be). My last surgery was in last autumn and I should have tried to get pregnant earlier. But I wasn't sure that I wanted a baby then. I didn't want to rush into anything just because of the disease.
I will start temping, yes. I just ordered an interesting book online about fertility and it has charts to fill in. Hopefully it works. Fingers crossed for you as well!

My husband and I are trying to conceive. I just went off my birth control on July 24th. I had a lap in April.

Hmm, well we tried for just a few months before I had bad pain (before I knew I had endo), then I had a year of surgeries (including removal of left tube and ovary). We went back to trying for seven months, but I knew my tube had something wrong after an HSG want totally clear. This June I had another lap to also address bladder issues and my specialist found my tube was stuck to my rectum. So we've been back to trying for one cycle (that was a very long answer . I am not totally convinced it can happen, but my remaining parts are in the best shape they can be for it. Everyone has a different opinion about when you should try to get pregnant (frankly, there are too many opinions out there!) but what matters is how you feel at the end of the day. I believe we will have a family somehow, be it natural or through adoption or fostering, so my main obstacle is impatience! By the way, we have a temping thread if you want to check it out. KT- have you temped?

I believe we will have a family somehow, be it natural or through adoption or fostering, so my main obstacle is impatience! I totally agree with you on this one. I too believe we will have a family, one way or another. I just don't want my endo to come back because it makes my life a living hell when I have to deal with pain. My mum never had problems conceiving, but then again, she started at age 20 and I'm 27, so this is a big difference. On the other hand, my grandma had problems conceiving and she had her first child at 28 which was very late at that time. By the way, is anyone taking Maca? Or have you ever tried it?
