I too am hoping to get pregnant soon. I actually haven't started trying. My doc says to wait 3 months after I finished Lupron (finished in November) and then I can start trying to conceive. For now I'm just taking pre-natal vitamins to prepare. I have a four year old little girl who is hoping to have a baby sister to play with.

I'm also trying to conceive. My doctor told me after my last lap I didn't have any better chance of getting pregnant (low chance apparently) as he wasn't able to get all the endo. But hope springs (almost) eternal and we are still trying so we'll see. We've an appointment to see about IVF later in January so we may start that soon. Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone who is trying.

Thanks, no, I haven't tried IUI, I don't even really know much about that. My doctor just mentioned IVF and because I'm quite new to all this and it's still sinking in, I've just been thinking about that. Yikes - so much to learn!

Hi scarlet...i don't know why your doctor doesn't recommend IUI. it's almost the same as IVF but done inside of you whereas ivf is done in the lab and then the fertilised egg will be inserted back to you..IUI is much much cheaper than IVF.normally if IUI failed- may be 3 times then your doctor will recommend IVF. here, IVF cost is 100 x than IUI so for me i don't want to pay that much before i try other alternative.
hi tan, are you a chinese? what do you mean by 4 cycle?
juts did my 3rd IUI just now..my dorctor are quite happy this time as my endometriun lining is much thicker .it's 11.3 mm compared to last time and the size of the egg ( this time i only have one- no more twins) is 23mm..the my dh 'soldiers' are very strong..hehehe. finger cross..

denna, IUI is WAYYYYY different from IVF. IUI is basically, they just "wash" the sperm and separate the good ones then inject it through the cervix into the uterus. After that, the sperm still have to choose the right tube and swim to the egg. Basically, IUI just picks the good swimmers and gives them a boost past the vagina and cervix. They still have to crawl to the tubes and become fertilized and then implant back down in the uterus.
In IVF, the embryologist (or whoever) actually fertilizes retrieved eggs with the man's semen, and then the viable embryos that develop are introduced into the uterus around the time the embryos would have normally implanted/reached the uterus. Hopefully one or more will implant and take.

Hi denna, good luck to you. I am Indian. By "cycles", I wanted to mean monthly cycles. scarlet, you asked about homoeopathy in a different thread, for that I have to consult with a homoeopathy doctor.

yeah, my whole problem is with my endo causing a negative chemical environment which can damage my eggs and kill the sperm!! Not so good. So IVF cuts out the whole journey of the sperm to the egg and gives them a better chance of surviving. I'm trying naturally for a few more months so fingers crossed!

scarlet, how did you understand endo cause a negative chemical environment on you? please don't loose hope. I am 32, so i don't have much time in my hand for trying, still hoping. denna, where do you stay? My name is Tanusree. I am only using clomid, and for just two months on fertility drugs. Do you know why peregon is used with clomid?

Hi tan
I'm in malaysia. puregon ( sorry wrong spelling) is suppose to have the sam eeffect with clomid but do not have the thining effect. high dose of clomid can thin your endometrium lining. my gynae said, my nect round she will not use clomid anymore just puregon...applie dthrough injection and it's painful.. there's another alternative but they don't have in stock..i forgot the name.it's less painful.
how do you know that clomid works for you? do you go for TVS to check if you have big egg suitable for fertilization?
I go to check on the 11th days after i took clomid and on both IUI i have good eggss then 36 hours before my IUI i was injected with pregnyl to rapture the egg.
Puregon How does it work?
Follitropin beta is a synthetic form of the naturally-occurring follicle stimulating hormone produced by recombinant DNA technology using Chinese hamster ovary cells. Follicle stimulating hormone is involved in the production and release of eggs from the ovary. This medicine is used in the management of female infertility and assisted reproduction. Furthermore it can be used to promote the development of multiple follicles in assisted reproduction programmes.
