How bizarre! I read your post yesterday, too, and now it is gone! I'm glad that the endo hasn't penetrated the bowel walls. Hope the biopsy comes back benign.

For the 1st lap I had that phosphate soda drink thing.. GROSS TOTALLY. Had me in the bathroom all day long. Stomach aches, you name it. THe 2nd lap, the doc told me that I was fine to do with out. I didnt trust her. Because EVERYONE does and suggests bowel preps to make sure of no accidental messing up of the bowel. I took an enima on my own, just didnt trust her.

Well tomorrow I have my bowel prep, 2 hours later than suggested (10am instead of 8am) cos I reeeaaally have to get a few things done in the morning! I started eating more low residue foods yesterday, like the ones suggested in the bowel prep leaflet, hopefully making it easier on myself for tomorrow. I hope I'm not friends with the potty all day, I have cleaning to do and my overnight bag to prepare (I put far too much thought into these things!) Missing my fruit and veg and grown bread but hey I'll get over it! xx

Eeeek. Bowel prep is so nasty! It's like peeing out of your bum. There's an unholy smell. But at least it doesn't hurt. I would highly recommend having moist toilet wipes or baby wipes on hand. For the sake of being thorough as well as gentle! And the water is super important, cos you end up with a horrid headache and the bowel prep doesn't work through properly if you don't drink at least 6 pints through the day. Follow the leaflet to a T and you'll be fine... just make sure no one else is home at the time!

Going through the horrid bowel prep tomorrow. I am not looking forward to being so hungry either. I am only on clear liquids all day tomorrow and then drink 2 phospho sodas at 4pm. My surgery isn't until 2:30pm on Tuesday. Also does anyone know how I can take my regular meds that I take at night? Can I still take them. I take Ambien to go to sleep an antidepressant and my add back therapy. I forgot to ask. I think I will just take them. I will be a moody hot flash having person is I don't. Wish me luck.

after my lap several days went by and i couldn't go. i called my dr. and they said i should take a softener. soooo, my mom went to the corner drug store and returned swiftly. she popped a pill in my mouth and that was that.... UNTIL the most horrific pain ever hit me. i almost passed out. i was so out of it that i left the door open to the bathroom and my, then fiance, husband just lay in bed yelling "baby, you need anything... what can i do" he would try to come in and i would scream "NO NO it's too terrible" LOL... now. i thought i broke our toilet! ugh. come to find out my mom dosed me with a laxative... the full force kind. ouch mom! not good when you have all the belly issues. so, i have to have a bowel prep tonight... and i'm taking no chances on this sucker. i'd rather eat air for two days than go through that kind of pain ever again. my nurse said to start a few days in advance and drink the prep in small doses. also, as some have already stated, liquids are goooood solids are BAD BAD BAD. good luck to all bowel prepers out there may the anti-force be with you... haha ;D

isit5yet, if you haven't done the "liquid" bowel prep before, may I warn you not to do it too early. YOU WILL BE IN THERE FOREVER ANYWAY. this last go around was my first time with the liquid prep. Yuck. Liquids are good. Jello, clear soups, gatorade is good to mix the prep with too. Especially if you can find one that has a similar taste. Mine was lime so I bought the lime gatorade. Sprite or 7up works too. I feel for ya babe. Not looking forward to that one again, but hey it gets the job done. I got constipated too after the surgery. over the counter colace caps work well, non stimulating stool softener. If you take 1 or 2 a day while you are on your pain meds you should be ok. That is the draw back of our surgeries being in the stomach area. not only do you use those muscles to do basically everything. But then to go to the bathroom too? I would think foot surgery would be much easier. Course I've never had foot surgery. Good luck kiddo. You'll be in my thoughts for the next couple of days. May the force be with you!
