I went to my 3rd doctor this week to discuss surgery options. He said that he looooves (he was very emphatic) to do laparoscopies instead of laparotomies. I told him that I had researched him and found an article he co-wrote about a semi-related topic. It was cute, he was trying not to show his pride, but he was blushing. Anyway, when he said how much he loves to do laparoscopies I started to get excited, thinking, "Yeah, I've found my doctor!" Then I said, "The last two doctors said it didn't look like a laparoscopy was possible, do you disagree?" Boy was I grinning, 'cause I really didn't want that big scar. . . . But he said that he, unfortunately, agreed that I had "waited too long" and my condition is to advanced for a laparoscopy to even be safe. The ovarian mass is too high up, and the surgical instruments could rupture the mass (cyst, I guess). Actually, considering what people keep telling me about how noticeable the near-the-navel scar is compared to the lateral-under-the- pantlyline scar, I think I'd rather the scar that is easier to hide. I just hope he doesn't have to end up taking the incision all the way up to my navel. Silly me, so vain! Ultimately, I really just want him to do what he has to to make this pain go away-regardless of scar and recovery time.

Meka, I completely understand where you are coming from, I did not want a scar down the front of me, I have both, I told my doctor if he didn't have to do don't, but he had to because of the location. But the reality og it is that what ever makes you healthy and feel better again that is the way it has to be , My mom's best friend is a Nurse and she told me that if I take Vitamin E capsules & poke a hole in it with a pin and rub it on the scar oncde it is healed. I only started a little while ago, seems to be helping. But remember put you scrubs on cause it makes a bit of a mess on your clothes. I'm always here to talk if you want to, Hillary
