I agree completely about being in a haze. I think part of my problem is that I tried to get out of bed too soon (for fear of having an accident in front of my fiance). I just remembered saying to my mom while I was trying to get up that I needed one of my pads. She found it and my underwear. I was able to put my own legs through the underwear but I was so groggy I just kind of let the rest happen for me. However, I am picky about how my pads are placed and my mom did not do it to my specifications so I ended up putting another one on for myself once I was actually up in the bathroom. The nurse tried to hand me one of theirs but I think she hesitated to help me because my mother (While I do love her she is very pushy) followed me into the bathroom and would not leave me to have any privacy. I was honestly too tired to care... Don't stress about embarrassing yourself. I know I made a fool of myself not even being able to walk correctly and passing gas loudly. The nurses don't think a thing of it and your family should understand as well. If they are there with you to support you they will still love you just the same if you need a little help

Yes the gas passing bothers me too lol..but anything to get rid of this pain is fine with me. I will likely be fighting for a lap i suspect any ways..who knows maybe the gyn will send me but i am prepared to deman it .

I had my period during my first lap and when I woke up I was wearing a pad. I know it's a little embarrassing but it's important to remember that these people deal with this day in day out and it's just part of the job. Anything they do that makes my life easier and more comfortable is welcome.

True! And yes anything to ease the pain I just really hate pads...for so many reasons..just ugh..and have memories of being sore after using them..like irritated kinda with a reaction not pleasant. But will figure out a kind that works and if light switch to liners.....I just don't want to get sore there too as that will be a pain.

Some pads can be heavily scented, maybe you're allergic to perfumes or dyes some of them have?

I hate pads too but seriously not even consider using a tampon after a lap.

Everyone is different, but I had a light-moderate bleed for 24-36 hours and then spotting for a couple of days after. I put in my first tampon about 3 weeks after surgery and it was uncomfortable, but got better.
