thanks Diana for your well wishes. i hope your 'soap opera' turns out well. this board is a great place to come to for empathy and sympathy. whenever i hear how badly someone feels, i just wanna reach right through the board, give'm a hug and tell them it will be okay. with all these people wishing everyone well, we should all be feeling great soon. God bless everyone.

Just an update on myself, I've been on Lupron continuously for over a year (was on it twice before also) and have been feeling great. I haven't gained any weight or had any terrible mood swings either. I guess it really depends on the person. I've been taking a lot of calcium and even Actonel to prevent bone loss. I've been great! So it hasn't been scarey for me at all.

just wanted to update, in case it could help someone. my second round of lupron was really beating me down. more so emotionally, than physically. i believe it just compounded my first round. my doc added a second hormone to my already existing norethindrone acetate. i am now also taking 0.5mg of estradiol. i share this info. for anyone on lupron, having a hard time dealing with the effects of menopause. it has helped with the emotional and even the physical side effects. i really don't think i even get any more hot flashes or night sweats. i still don't feel like myself 100% and still get some body aches, but it is helping, and it doesn't seem to be interfering with my treatment. i know there are others who have had a hard time dealing with lupron and i just wanted to let you know there may be more resources to get through it.
God Bless.

Ah. A girl on a facebook.com endo group just posted this. __________________________________________________ Hey I just started on Lupron Depot 2 weeks ago and have been doing OK with it up until today, when I started to bleed uncontrollably. Has anyone who has been on Lupron before experienced this? My doctor prescribed Premarin (which is a conjugated estrogen used to treat post-menopausal symptoms) in the hopes of stopping the bleeding. This sucks."

Hey jessa, I wasn't on Lupron but a similar type of drug called prostap 3, which I had twice in 6 months. I had 5-6 weeks of bleeding which started 2 weeks before my injection and just carried on until I went to the gynae a&e, was given highest available doses of tranexamic acid (which doesn't usually do anything for me) to stop the bleeding. I felt really crappy all the way through my treatment, never felt healthy even though i didn't come down with any illnesses, and it got worse after the second injection, especially as my memory and concentration got really bad, and I had a sort of breakdown. All I can suggest is taking all your vits, drink lots of water and sleep well but not too long (sleeping too long can bring on depression). I took a gingko and ginseng supplement for my fluffy brain which helped, and evening primrose to keep my hormones steady. I hope you get through it ok, and remember if it gets to you badly and you don't feel it's working out you can refuse the next dose! I didn't cos I hoped it would work itself out and my consultant wouldn't be helpful unless I followed through, but in hindsight it wasn't worth it! I am on first period now, 5 months after the last injection and I'm still in a lot of pain!

hey jessa, hang in there!! at first the lupron didn't bother me too much, now i can't wait to get off it. it is no fun, but for me the only thing that helped for a bit. it's been a trade off, and i am not sure how worth it it was. we'll see.

I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years now. I had a lap done last Tuesday. I have stage3 endo. My doctor removed what she could and wants me to start lupron next month for 6 months to get rid of the rest of the endo. She then wants me to try to get pregnant naturally. I am terrified to take this drug. I have heard about the short and long term effects. I'm still young and I don't think it is right to put my body through this. Has anyone had success getting pregnant after using Lupron? I've read most of your posts and would love some advice.

Hi all.... I am new to this site and was getting updated on all the message boards and came across the topic of Lupron. I had my first surgery back in 2002 and went on Lupron for 6 months after...I then had 3 major surgeries in the past 2 yrs and had lupron for the first two of the three. Everytime I had the mood swings, hot flashes and everything else that comes w/ it but I am so happy I did it. It gave my body time to rest and also gave me a better chance of getting pregnant on my own. Which is a big thing for my husband and I. Every person is different, but I would do it again if allowed. Good luck with your decision!!!!! I'm so happy I found this website...i think it's great for all of us to say what's really happening and not have to sugar coat it for anyone...
