Well, I'm hoping it helps and I don't end up feeling worse on it than I already do. I was just shocked when I came home and read the leaflets as you do, to see that my doctor didn't ask me the most basic of questions, like am I pregnant! As I am in a heterosexual relationship this should surely be addressed??! Anyway, I had the shot today and I have been given one month worth of Livial which is HRT. I gues I'll take the first one tomorrow as I wasn't told when to start that either. I may go over to the bitch thread later and rant as it's been a hell of a day. I know you're all here to support me and I'm so grateful (and Hels I Love your new pic!!) xx

Gem, so sorry you got bombarded with the shot. I can imagine it's a bit disturbing to not get all the answers and info you need!! Please call and get some more info if it'll make you feel more comfy. I can't believe they just caught you off guard like that! You have every right to be upset, but knowing you, you'll learn how to make the best of it once you wrap your head around it.

It's day 4 and so far I just feel incredibly tired. I seem to have a shorter temper than usual as well, but that may be because I'm tired. I'm waiting for the bad stuff to hit me. Tuesday was really bad, but I think as I had just started taking magnesium as well, that was giving me an upset tummy and not helping.

OK, it's Day 15. I have continued to be tired and grouchy, although I am managing this a bit better now. Had the bleeding/clotting incident last week as some of you may know. I was given tranexamic acid for the bleeding which stopped it so we will have to see what happens with that. Also, I have had trouble sleeping since the injection. This only ever happens when I wake up because of pain.
The main thing that I am loving is the pain, or lack of!!! I still have very mild pain in my lower back and I am aware that at this time of the month the pain is reduced anyway, but nothing like this! I am waking up and NOT taking painkillers!!!
So the lack of pain is great, the bleeding was horrendous and I know that if it continues I will have to look into that further as it is so much I am unable to not leak through despite wearing two ot three towels at a time!!!

Well that's certainly a silver lining to it all! Perhaps it'll at least tide you over a bit until you get your lap?

Thanks guys I'm hoping I haven't spoken too soon. Today has been awful, my 'usual' pain and diarrhoea all day. Hopefully it's just a blip...

Hello girls,
I am new here but can jump in with some experience here. I am on my second round of zoladex. I had the first 3 months after surgery to remove ovary and fallopian tube. I am not sure if my pain was less because during surgery they removed some of the endo or because the Zoladex worked well. I definitely had the same side effects as you describe, hot flushes, insomnia, headaches, tiredness and feeling generally in a bit of a fog. Unfortunately the two progesterone pills I have taken since have not worked for me and i am back onto Zoladex. Doc said for between 6 and 9 months with feedback therapy every 3 months. I'm finding I am still having pain though and an extra side effect this time seems to be extra headaches and what feels like high blood pressure, though I haven't had it taken.
I have the injections roughly every 28 days. Unfortunately I am in Europe and have to pay for them myself..... 3 injections just cost me the 750 dollars!!! I can claim back on insurance after the first 1,500 dollars!!
The doc told me that it is really difficult to have a pregnancy that sticks on Zoladex as the tissue in the uterus is so reduced that the fertilised egg wouldn't stick. I am pretty sure I ovulated on it twice.
I have been taking flax seed oil and evening primrose oil to counter the side effects. I asked my doc if he thought the natural estorgens in them would be a problem, he said no, the drug was too strong to be effected. However, I stopped taking them last week as I feel that the endo pain is much worse this time round than last time and I'm wondering if it is the supplements. I will see how it goes in the next couple of weeks. I have the next injection next week.
xx

I took the Zoladex shots after my first endo surgery in 2007. They aren't overly painful or anything, but they put your body into sort of a menopause. It's kind of like bringing your estrogen levels waaaaay down and wiping the slate clean, giving your body time to heal without estrogen feeding those little growths again. The good thing about Zoladex is you only have to go in once a month, and after 6 months you're done. The bad news is that you are pretty much in menopause and you will most likely get hot flashes and night sweats and acne and the whole works. They should give you a small dose of estrogen patches (like Vivelle-Dot) to eliminate the side effects. My doctor prescribed .035 Vivelle Dot.

Okay so day 1 brought extreme nausea. It went away but for the past two days i have extreme fatigue i can barely move and keep my eyes open. I am also experiencing a higher body temp and my whole body is very warm.
Other than that im going pretty well.
