Hi, michelle. I suffered something similar. Bowel problems/pain and what I thought were my ovaries, which actually wound up being endo and adhesions on both sides of my abdomen--actually being my sigmoid colon on the left and appendix and cecum on the right. It's hard to tell exactly where the pain is coming from since everything is so bunched up down there. I thought for sure it was endo on my ovaries, but it wound up being my bowels.
Anyway, good luck with everything. I hope you get scheduled earlier, and if the drugs help you, don't suffer in pain just to show your doctor's office that you're not a druggie. If you think they'll help you, take them. Don't suffer just to make a point!

I agree, dont let them morons get the better of you.
You know your not a drug seeker, and if there such incompetent health care providers that they cant see your in genuine pain thats not your problem, its theirs.
Take the drugs, its important to get adequate pain relief.

I went to the ER the other day and asked them to please do some tests. Here were my results: OBSERVATION Uterus is normal size. The endometrial stripe is unremarkable measuring 0.6cm. Nobathian cysts are noted in the cervix. The right ovary measures 3.9 x 4.4x3.4cm and is unremarkable. The left ovary measures 2.9x3.2x1.7 and is unremarkable. There is a 3.1x3.9x2.5cm cystic lesion with internal echoes and seperations in the right adnexa. Minimal free fluid is noted in the pelvis. IMPRESSION 3.1x3.9x2.5 cm complex cystic lesion in the right adnexa as described, which may represent hemorrhagic cyst/endometrioma. The ER doc totally freaked me out. She said the radiologist could not identify the tissue and I should call my doc immediately because of my family history with cancer. I called him and he got angry at the ER doc, and said there is no reason to bump my surgery. He just doesn't seem too concerned about me. I want a different doc now, but my lap so close and not many other docs I could go to here in albuquerque, NM. So, I guess i'm just gonna wait it out. My pain is now in my left side and moving to my back. I was in bed all day because I was SOOOO nausious. My surgery is April 9th, so I guess I will wait.
I really want to more than 3 vicodin a day, 1 only brings my pain down to about a 2 or 3. OMG get this! Whe I called the nurse to tell her I was in pain, she said, "ARE YOU SURE YOURE NOT JUST GOING THROUGH WITHDRAWS FROM YOUR MEDICATION." I was soooo mad!!!! I wanted to reach through the phone and pull her hair out. Gosh this is frustrating.

Michelle, like everyone else here has said, you arent a drug seeker, the pain is REAL! and they need to listen to you! i am a nurse and we are taught that the pain is what the patient says!!!! is there a specialist in endometriosis anywhere in your area? i agree, get the surgery as soon as possible then maybe research more drs.

After my surgery I plan to try herbal remedies.
5 MORE DAYS!!! I am so excited. I can't wait to wake up and my doctor tell me, "i'm sorry i doubted you, your insides are a train wreck!"
Hearing everyone's stories here, and knowing I am not alone with this pain has actually began helping me deal with the stress of being called a drug seeker, the right way. I am so thankful for all of your support. I am starting to consider counseling... maybe people are right, perhaps it really is not good to bottle your problems up and throw them away...

Hey Michelle! I had a little outburst on here not too long ago because all the stress of dealing with this caught up with me! It didn't help that I was having my 'red dragon' come to visit, but none the less it was an eye opener for me. As wonderful as all the support and everything is on here, once I'm finished my reading for the day I am still left to deal with it on my own. I've also been having some problems in my relationship at home as well... I've decided that counselling might be a good thing - I am just waiting to get my appointment.
I don't beleive there is anything wrong with getting as much help as you can - in the end it will only help you to feel stronger and better about what you are going through!
Hugs!!

I am back from my first Lap. I know it seems wierd but I am absolutely thrilled that the Doc found loads of Endo! I was a little too doped up to remember everything, but my boyfriend said Endo was everywhere in the pictures. My doc removed everything except for some Endo he found on a little piece that connects to my bladder. He ddint was to take it out because he feared it would cause damage. I FINALLY have proof of my pain. I am so relieved and can't wait for my appointment with my doctor. I will write more in detail about my recovery experience as soon as I am better. It's been 5 days now and I am finally almost walking like a person my age, instead of an old lady =P I think one more day in bed for me is good (can't take much more of it lol ) So, YAY for me. I have Endo and I am so happy =) I know that sounds funny, but I am so happy that we finally found the reason for all of my pain. My job now is to take care of my body, and keep Endo AWAY!

Hey Michelle!!! You must have so much relief!!! Isn't it wonderful to also finally know that you aren't crazy!?!? That satisfaction of being able to say 'I told you so' to the doctors is priceless!! I am so happy for you that you are now on your way to getting back to life, and your focus can now be on moving on and upwards!! Big Hug for you!!!

Hello Michellep,
I know this is a late posting. I'm a new member and was really touched by your thread. What ever you do don't let the docs make you feel you're making a fuss. I'm having such a battle with mine they won't acknowledge endo at all even though it's already caused me to have a laparotomy and hyst. Like you I'm now in constant pain. I've not worked for six months. I will get better and having just found it site it's been a help just to know that there are others like you out there and we are not neurotic! Don't avoid taking meds just becuase you feel they might think you are a druggy. Do what is best for you. Keep battling away. You said you were having a lap in April. HOpe it went ok?
I think your desire to go to get into the medical profession is fab. If people like you that understand people like us what a better place that will be. Don't give up we're in this together. Thinking of you and feeling your pain. You can do it. Take care xx

*hugs* Isn't it awful when they think you are a drug seeker, or they don't want to give you anything stronger in case you get "addicted"? Argh!
Hang in there, hon! *hugs*
