Hi I'm Rae, I'm 26and last week I was diagnosed with Endo. It was a bit of a fluke getting diagnosed, since I had always just assumed that what I was going through was normal, part of being slim (the pain during and after sex) and just hereditary (though it turns out my Gran had endo as well). It wasn't until after I gave birth via c-section 16 months ago that it became unbareable and I became a frequent flyer in local ERs being put on morphine, poked and proded and sent home "fine." I had originally thought it was related to the pregnancy (there were a lot of complications), after countless ultrasounds, X-rays, MRIs, CTs, bloodwork, and even scans of my gallbladder, I was sent to a new OB who looked over everything, asked what everything was like before I got pregnant, what the pains felt like, etc. and did a pelvic exam before explaining he believes I have endometriosis. He wants to avoid surgery or the scope so he has put me on visanne. Because I related badly to hormone birth control that contains estrogen he warned that if this doesn't work I'm looking at surgery and inducing menopause with Lupron.
On the non-endo front I'm a mom of a 16 month preemie and a step mom to an amazing 4 year old and a cat fur baby. I love horror movies, comics, and reading.

Hi Rae, welcome. I hope things work out in regards to the visanne. Surgery, while it turned out to not be as scary as I'd thought, was still a life changing thing. I hope this forum helps remove a lot of the guesswork from endo.
