I just had my second surgery and had my right ovary removed along with a 6.5cm cyst. I'm on my period and the pain is horrible no meds are working and neither are my normal pain relief techniques. Feeling ready to gut myself to relieve pain. Pls help

hi there. I am so sorry that you are going through so much pain. I can at least say that I have some idea of what you may feel. It sort of feels like I'm being cut from the inside. I can maybe share a few things that have helped over the years --- #1 turmeric tea (the actual tea bags you can buy, not from your spice cabinet) - turmeric is honestly a powerful anti-inflammatory and, if your stomach can handle it, it DOES help. #2 ice! I place ice packs on the areas that hurt the most for 20 mins on/20 mins off #3 warm bath - if you respond better to heat, try a warm bath or hot water bottle. Heating pads hurt me but for some women, it helps. #4 get on a progestin - if you can. I have been on a mini pill (Jolivette) for a long time and when I tried to go off, the pain came back x10. I realized how much it was actually helping to keep the endo at bay. Aygestin did NOT help me, for some reason. Just the jolivette. #5 walking - I know it is the last thing you want to do while in pain, but I have found that moving your parts keeps the "cobwebs" from spreading (I visualize the endo like cobwebs and am trying to make it harder for them to form by keeping my insides from sitting still too long)
What have you tried and have you had any luck since your post?
