Hey Hugs to you....I can completely understand where you're coming from I was diagnosed with pulmonary TB in my right lung and was on alot of meds for it for 9 months I lost over 4/5 stone I looked horrible I was a size 6-8 (am normally a 12 UK size) I looked skeletal and weighed 7stone at my worst its been almost 2 years from stoping meds and I am just getting back to my "normal" weight n clothes only just fit me now.... U could just be losing weight coz of acupuncture ur body could be detoxing Have you eliminated anything from diet? As that could be why you've lost alot of weight it could be the swelling minimised which you may not have known you had?
Its so easy for people to say put on weight eat rubbish but its hatd to put on weight when u want to n need to especially when you are already anxious about it The only thing I think helped me was trying to keep my mind off it I ate small meals and often but healthy too as you dont want to fill your body with rubbish and become fat and unhealthy it is hard but always here for you for any kind of support...
I hope you can get back to a healthy weight and lifestyle and things improve xxx P.s. find another doctor who doesnt just say smother your food in butter but can help find a mutual result with you and advises well xxx

I'm surprised your doctor isn't more concerned about the rapid weight loss!
Have you ever been tested for celiac? Some people that have it lose quite a bit of weight because the disease causes so much damage to the digestive system that your body isn't able to absorb all the nutrients it needs. Celiac is caused by gluten. You can ask your doctor for the test, but can eliminate gluten to see if you feel better.
To put weight back on, I wouldn't recommend butter... but things like olives, avocado, coconut oil, and other healthy fats may help. In addition, be sure to eat enough protein!

Wow, I'm also amazed by your doctor's reaction! I had a similar issue in high school, lost about 25-30 lbs in a few months for no reason. My mom, who is a nurse practitioner, bought me "weight loss" shakes. While these are normally used to help lose weight, if you aren't eating anything they can provide calories, fats, vitamins, and protein. I liked the Atkins ones and chocolate SlimFast ones, plus there's Carnation Instant Breakfast. I came up with some pretty tasty concoctions using the SlimFast powder, let me know if you want them! I know these aren't solutions to why you are feeling like this, but could help you get something in you that isn't complete junk.

I also recommend those supplement shakes. I had a similar issue in high school where I dropped to around 80lbs. I drank Ensure drinks that are meant for old people who cannot take in many nutrients. I also noticed that if I skipped meals that I would become very nauseous the next time I tried to eat. Try to eat small amounts so your body will get used to eating again. Coconut milk or oil helps my tummy, so I would make curry and try to eat a little bit since tumeric is usually good for you.
Maybe you should try to add a probiotic to help aid in digestion. I also found that if I drank too much water right before or after a meal I would feel sick or throw up. Sometimes peppermint helps with the nausea. I would keep a few in my backpack to help if I started feeling sick.

My favorite combo was with the SlimFast Chocolate Royale mix (if you tolerate nut butters): 1 scoop mix 2-3 ice cubes 8 oz milk of preference 1-2 T peanut (or any other nut) butter Blend in blender. Tastes like a chocolate/peanut butter shake! A lot of what you choose depends on how well you tolerate seeds, lactose, and nuts. Just play around with it.
Adding frozen fruit, like bananas or berries is also yummy.

Hey!
First off, I really urge you to really reconsider taking the Lupron. You are very very young for these injections, and they can have a long term impact. Especially the 3 month version of the shot, this is a very bold, risky, and nearly inappropriate recommendation. If Lupron was to be considered at all it should be the 1 month injection. Please find a better doctor who really knows this illness and can treat it competently. Blindly giving teenagers 3 month Lupron injections is very very far from good practice.
Also please be aware the 3 month injection especially can have ongoing side effects, and the impact of Lupron on a still developing endocrine system (which yours is!) is unknown. I also am not anti=Lupron, I personally loved Lupron, but in this instance it is too soon and the wrong dose. Please, please, please consider at least getting a second opinion from an endo specialist. Lupron for endo pre-surgery is often a red flag of a doctor who does not feel very comfortable with surgery and with treating endometriosis. Also even if Lupron stops the pain, it DOES NOT tell the doctor why. Lupron also does not treat the source of the pain, I can attest that the pain comes RIGHT back. Putting an adolescent body into menopause is a bold move, and while I'm not a doctor, I am sorry it just sounds way riskier than a Laproscopy. Lupron if it is Endo will also make you sicker for the first 2=3 weeks. Versus a laproscopy which will remove the endometriosis, and you will feel back to normal in 2 to 3 weeks. As I said in response to your intro post an endo specialist will do a good interview and exam and not do surgery unless they are very sure that is what it is.
I get the rapid weight loss, before my surgery this past week my weight was plummeting. Due to the pain and massive GI symptoms, and yes it was all endometriosis, adenomyosis, and adhesions causing the GI problems. From the tail end of my Lupron injection through the middle of July (about a month and a half) I dropped 15 lbs. Thankfully before surgery I was able to stabilize it and put 5lbs back on.
I survived on protein shakes, multivitamins, and eating whatever I found appetizing. The protein/nutrient shakes and the multivitamins really helped cover the nutrition and allowed me to just focus on getting calories, fat, and the basics into my body.
When my symptoms are really bad I have a very hard time with raw vegetables and dense veggies (like kale, collards). My colon issues were getting so back it was suspected I was having partial intestinal blockages, and when I consulted with a GI they confirmed that extra fiber was a bad idea for me. I'm vegan and this made my life interesting for a bit. I cut down on things like seasame seeds, poppy seeds, and corn which the body doesn't digest. And stuck to things that were heavily processed (like all natural veggie nuggets and burgers) or soft like soups, stews, etc.
The natural food store usually has a wide variety of shake mixes I am lactose intolerant as well as vegan so I went with the soy version. I make mine with soy milk and a shaker, takes 2 mins, no mess, no blender.
