Hi all so im still figuring out whats good and whats bad on the endo diet and thought i would get your thoughts! Firstly Bananas are they ok? I normally dont eat them as my acupunturist told me that in eastern medicine bananas are deemed as toxic. You should only eat them if you are really hungry so your body burns them off. Apparently they create dampness in the body (not good for those of us with fertility issues). Im guessing they are ok from an Endo point of view as a lot of people here seem to use them in smoothies which is exactly how i want to use them!
Second the natural yoghurt its dairy but its ok right? Should it be used sparingly? I really like it on top of my veggies from time to time. I am surprised it tastes so good. Fools me into thinking i having cream in there! But I feel like im cheating on the diet somehow when i have it.
Popcorn - This has become my favorite treat. Just want to check its ok before i get to attached! Its just corn and salt right? Would it better to use the ones that arent pre popped or does it make any difference?
What do you guys snack on? I really struggle sat nights when hubbie and i are watching movies - we used to pig out on crisps and chocolate. Im pigging out on fruit now which is good but some variety would be better. I need to get around to making some of the desserts in the endo book i think!

Hi Cherish, well I'm relatively new to the endo diet (was diagnosed last year so can I consider myself an oldie... ) I do have bananas in smoothies (made out of rice or almond milk) or I just eat 'em or I chop them up and drizzle a tiny bit of organic honey if I'm feeling naughty so I'm guessing they are alright. If I remember correct natural yogurt is one of the exeptions to the no lactose rule, I have no idea why, maybe someone more knowledgeable would advice on that but have a look at the endo book, I'm sure there is a description but I'm just too lazy to dig it ou. Oh the snacks, I know it's tough to avoid crips and chocolate but I have a dried fruit & nut mix that I eat sparingly. Sometimes I make muffins using organic eggs and coconut flour. Also I love dates. Do you want me to post the muffin recipe for you?

Hey
I've always been told bananas are good especially a week before u start your period as it contains potassium right n is to help pains n clots....I live nanas I make banana fritters hubby lives it too n now only has honey too
I need to get strict though if am honest...people say alot of duff things and alot of the time its individual too as I have a funny tummy someday fruits are out of the question for me I get trapped gas and is very painful.n in turn starts flaring up endo pains However someday I am ok n some days no food agrees so its temperamental for me lol
Someday just can't eat but I live fish so I eat fish atleast 4-6 times a week

Hattie muffins sound yummy yes please send it on! Nibletz I get trapped wind to especially at time of month it's soooo painful. I think il include the banana s but not everyday. Here and there I think! I'm sitting here drinking my first cup of rose tea! I was in health shop getting almond butter and I saw it and thought I'd give it a try . It's so pretty it's actually tiny little rose buds, was wicked expensive but once I opened it I understood that's why! So another plus for the diet this week I lost a pound and a half - half a pound last week. At last the Christmas weight is comin off! Must get back to walking next week ;D

Cherish, I will post the recipe as soon as I get a minute for myself (hopefully I'll be able to post it on Monday on the recipe thread). That rose tea sounds divine. I've given up on tea, sometimes I just have a cup of decaf green tea and survive on water

I just saw a GI dr that specializes in endo and one of the top foods he says to avoid is bananas!! I was so sad because I love bananas and eat them everyday but apparently they contain Tyramine, which "excites" the bowels and causes them to spasm if you have endo...It's crazy that even foods you think are good for you can make things worse!!
