Most of the meds I took just stopped having any effect. I do not know if my body just was tolerant and I did not want to have to take more to feel better...so I would call and the Dr would try something else.
I think Vicoden hurt me the most with constipation. And the anti-depressants...well I would not be depressed if I was not in pain. I think they made me more crazy...my hubby thought so too!

I was taking Naproxin before my surgeries but now I have a lot of left over 800mg Ibruprofen which works better (of course, my pain is so much better after the surgeries). At night I'll ad one Vicodin so I can sleep longer and I've only had to do that the first night when it is really bad. I don't have any side effects other than tiredness from Vicodin (which is why I take it at night).

Yeah it's definitely hit and miss with antidepressants but it's a pain that you have to wait a while tp get the real effects through... so those first 6 weeks you could be feeling loopy, but you still have to wait cos on that 42nd day you may have a chemical epiphany... yeah right!
I had naproxen on a visit to America last year that helped a lot cos I was in a lot of pain after my flight. However when my doctor gave me it as a regular painkiller it wasn't any good for me. It was my lucky star that day tho cos I couldn't walk for the pain xx

I can't take anything right now until they rule out crohn's or colitis...they don't want to aggravate anything more than it has to be! The pain has been unbearable at times...my back especially, I want some drugs....raid your cupboards maybe!! joking. I just tend to sleep now when then pain is really bad or try to lay very still and if I fall asleep so be it. If not I don't move sometimes for hours on end....you'd think someone would want to help fix me eh! 30 years old and I sleep longer than my kids and husband put together, most days anyways!

Hi I am always in alotof pain mainly 3 days before my period though i am doubled over with pain that does not subside. I have found Naprogeisc (I am so leaving money to these people in my will) this contains naproxen sodium (275mg). I take Nurofen Plus which contains ibuprofen, codeine and panadiene forte is what is get prescribed every month which has 500mg of paracetamol and 30mg of codeine... I also use Buscopan for the pains i get throughout the month and Mersyndol Forte. The codeine in particular the panadeiene forte makes me constipated though so i try to limit those.

ok, i have tryed quite a few over the years but the one i take now are -
solpadol 30/500 ( sounds the same as codine and panadiene forte)and sevredol (morphine sulphate)
i fine that if im in alot of pain the two together work really well but they do make me really sleepy so i can really only take them together at night. the solpadol makes me constipated!!!

Right now I'm getting by with a very hot hot water bottle, my tens ova (small cheap tens, godsend but useless with big pain!) and etodolac (NSAID) and meptazinol hydrochloride (analgaesic, opioid, narcotic) These two together knock me out, though today I spent 2 hours talking my boyfriends ear off, and now I feel very loopy, so I should be falling asleep at my computer any minute now! xx

How do you work the TeNS machine to address the pain? What locations do you place the patches?
I'm extremely new to Endo. I have my first lap in 2 weeks.
I've been in pain almost nonstop for 6 months. None of the over the counter stuff works. I've tried Tylenol 3, which sometimes does, but mostly doesn't help. The only thing that's worked so far is Vicodin and it doesn't stop the pain, it just makes me not care about it.

I place the patches 10cm apart on my lower left, which is where I get pain most constantly. I am gonna buy a TSE when I go to NY, which is the one that goes on the spine and controls the pain that way, it's reportedly much stronger. On the Ova I use setting c, which is the pulsing one and works best for me xx

Updated, only as post op pain relief I take Prexige, which is Lumiracoxib. I take 100 mg when necessary, though I have taken 400mg before my op because I was in a lot of pain just then. It works better for me than previous painkillers, and I'm hoping I will no longer depend on pain relief after this pain has gone

1. Yaz bc. Worked for 5 months after my surgery. Then.. 2. Darvocet 3. Ponstel 4. Off the ponstel, onto Lupron 5. Lupron not working great, added Darvocet 6. Darvocet not strong enough, replaced with Ultram 7. Nasty allergic reaction to Ultram- my entire leg bruised b/c I couldn't clot while I was on it. 8. Back to darvocet, but they added meloxicam. Not the best, but at least I have something. Still on the lupron as well. Seeing a specialist on September 4th.

This topic is primarily pain relief. It'd be great if you could give us an introduction in the 'Introduce Yourselves' area! I can't remember what other meds I have had on top of not remembering what pain relief I have had! I am very proud to say that even though I had a migraine last night, I have not taken any form of pain killers for 1 week now. This is miraculous for me compared to before my op, so I'm very happy

Not sure if that was for me, but I did introduce myself about a month or so ago. I think I did it as a guest, though.
